I have a few hypotheses:
1. He's worked out a stable arrangement with a machine shop at higher volumes
2. He's settled on a finishing process that requires less manual effort
3. He's able to handle a lower per unit margin due to the volumes and the fact that the razor can drive customers to purchase additional items from Italian Barber

Whatever the case may be, I think this pricing strategy is a savvy business move. He's differentiating himself in the market in an area where he has a lot of skill-- designing and sourcing low-cost/high-value products.

He's already retailing Above the Tie, Charcoal Goods, Feather, and iKon razors, so it's not like he's ignoring the premium market either.

Bingo, you nailed it

yes he did nailed it, so far I have been wetshaving for around 1-2 years and the only place I have made more than 1 purchase is your place. I never buy 1-2 soaps or 1-2 brushes at the time, usually I go back for a new model razor and always adding soaps, brushes and blades and still way below price tag than other places just for buying razor only.

BTW just got the Ti BBS, it looks superb and the color of the titanium its so appealing ( strange greyish color with yellow tint to its magic to my eyes) I can also see the consistency of the Ti between the head and handle is there because even though the handle is polished and the head is glass blasted, there is not much difference in the shade between them. Haven't shaved with it but put a blade on it and just placed the razor next to my face just to see if there is any blade feel, it definitely there is blade feel but the razor should be little bit below medium aggression, for sure much more blade feel than the Seygus which is why I sold it in the first place, too mild for its own sake....

Some of IB's most inexpensive razors are rebranded Chinese imports, but they're quality razors nonetheless. IB doesn't sell junk and will continue to earn my business.

Joe is doing something right. There seems to be a high demand for his razors these days.

Thank you for the updates on the release date. Do you know where that information was from Tragique?

Does anyone know how the Black Mamba might compare in efficiency and aggressiveness to the MJ-90?
