I purchased a Thater 4125/2 a couple months ago and it has the silver coin/logo in the bottom of the brush. I recently purchased a 4125/3 and this one has a gold tone coin which I have not seen before.

Does anyone know if this marks something different about the brush? This one wasn't wrapped in paper like the first one and the box is a little different as well (it's sort of a single layer box instead of the double boxing of the first brush I bought.)

There has been some changes in some of the construction and such. I haven't gone through enough Thater brushes personally to remember it. Is one 3-band and one 2-band? Maybe gold signifies a 3-band. I checked my 2 2-bands and it is silver. I happen to have an older 3-band that doesn't have the coin but is a silver indentation, a wider one than the coin, that states the model.

Edit: Just to add a bit more. I do remember having a gold coin Thater. I believe that was a 2-band as well. Checked a few websites and the 3-band Silvertip is also silver. Thater has had numerous cosmetic changes. Not sure if anyone has kept track of that though.

2nd edit: Just saw a gold metal one here: https://damnfineshave.com/thread-th%C3%A...-you-there Post 8 shows the type of emblem I have in my 3-band. Post 9 shows the gold logo.

Both the brushes are 2-band fans, only difference is the size.

What I am wondering is if one is older stock as I purchased from a different vendor the second time. Not that I really care about the box but since it was different that made me wonder about why the differences.
