BullGoose Shaving Supplies recently stocked the 2 and 3 bands. How much more backbone do the 2-bands have over the 3-bands?

Unfortunately it's too expensive to buy from the US. Shipping is $35-40 and and add to that 25% tax/customs.

2-bands have some degree of extra backbone, but are still very soft.

Shaving.ie is where I bought mine. They have the best prices I have seen, but I imagine those are par for European merchants.

I have 2 thaters 24, 26 2 band fans I enjoy their personalities but i did not like the handles. I had Doug Korn transplant them to his wonderful designed handles.

I like the 2-band 4292 series and can get by with the stock handle. For the 4125 knot, that octo handle just doesn't do it for me so transplanting into a custom handle is a necessity -- but that gets real pricey real quick so have held off. Always an option, though.

Already have two on order from Chris at shaving.ie - but his stock is limited and he can't/won't get new Thäters in for a while, so need to look elsewhere for the ivory 28 mm 3-band bulb I want.

But thanks for your suggestion and help, much appreciated !!

I enjoy the knots quite a bit. I have a 4125 - 28mm 2 Band Bulb. I would like to try a 2B Fan but I wish there were more handle choices.

I have a 4125/1 Finest 2-band (fan) and like it very much. While I still prefer my Shavemac 2-band fan (not D01), the Thater is an excellent brush and I quite enjoy it.
