My take is Tatara guys are brilliant at incorporating engineering tenets into their razors (handle to head interface of Masamune and Nodachi being prime examples). The relatively low stack height of the adjustable is further evidence of their engineering acumen - whereas everybody else chased verticality because it was easier, they put thought into designing the adjustability into width.

Further, for engineers, they understand marketing, specifically branding. One will never confuse a Tatara with any other razor, whether by sight or blindfolded by touch. Even the naming convention remains consistent with the samurai theme, again resorting to famous, or in this instance 'infamous' swordsmiths. The name concerns me slightly as unsure would want the reputation of cursed evil associated with brand but it is all about honour and craftsmanship to the Tatara team....

Can anyone compare the settings to other adjustable designs like the Rex, Sailor, etc or do we not have the data for that?

I wonder what the purpose of the key is (in the video)? Any guesses?

It is how you separate the baseplate from adjustable collar to clean

To allow one to fully disassemble the razor, for cleaning.

I think that is right, a Masamune is only 93.7mm
Slighter wider handle as well, but slimmer than a Nodachi handle

I joined too, no risk in that the way they've set up the pre-order.

I'll wait to read some reviews before pulling the trigger though. As of now it seems too mild.

No. Awaiting passaround to try. Curious. Would be first adjustable ever favoured if so.

Hitherto, biggest issue has been stack height limiting access to nooks of my disfigured face

With the new Sailor Slim coming out in a couple months and a titanium Sailor coming next year, I am really wondering if this one is worth it for me. There has not been an adjustable that comes close to the engineering of the 2019 or 2020 Sailors for me but this one has a really cool adjustment mechanism. It just may not be aggressive enough for my tastes. I will wait for some reviews before I make good on my preorder.
