My take is Tatara guys are brilliant at incorporating engineering tenets into their razors (handle to head interface of Masamune and Nodachi being prime examples). The relatively low stack height of the adjustable is further evidence of their engineering acumen - whereas everybody else chased verticality because it was easier, they put thought into designing the adjustability into width.
Further, for engineers, they understand marketing, specifically branding. One will never confuse a Tatara with any other razor, whether by sight or blindfolded by touch. Even the naming convention remains consistent with the samurai theme, again resorting to famous, or in this instance 'infamous' swordsmiths. The name concerns me slightly as unsure would want the reputation of cursed evil associated with brand but it is all about honour and craftsmanship to the Tatara team....
