I know that members living outside North America often use a re-shipper to get product shipped from US to global destinations.  I wonder if there are any Canadian equivalents?

That's an excellent thought that I hadn't considered.

Wait, are you volunteering? Lol

How about I just share my thoughts on the experienceSmile?

Just received my Maya, Morocco, and Boreal. All smell very nice, especially Morocco - an instant association with very rich and delicate single malt. Looking forward to trying it tonight!

Confused   Sorry Ryan, but I don't think I really needed to see those sacs Big Grin  I'm sure I'll feel differently once I've actually experienced it.

Haha yeah.. we have received a little bit of flack for posting a photo of them. But we care about informing and educating customers as much as possible (which is why we list full scent ingredients and that they are all essential oils) - so why not!

I think we will take the photo down though now that everyone has seen in. I would never give in to people sending us mean emails about anything - that stuff doesn't phase me. But the photo just doesn't really fit with the "theme" of the page now does it!

Was the flak from folks who thought the picture was unattractive or who were bent that it was animal parts? Some people just don't want to see how stuff is made, like badger brushes - those badgers don't give up their bristles willingly and they don't survive the process. Tallow? Frankly I think the fact that you used some essence of beaver in your Canada 150 is perfect. The country exists today because of beavers and the demand for its fur to make fancy hats for Europeans. To any haters I have only one thing to say....Take off eh!

Fair enough. I am actually looking forward to the reviews coming in for the new scents.

You weren't alone. The amount of Americans trying to get 150 was mind blowing. People who had never tried T+S before, and the only product they wanted was one made to celebrate the birthday of a country that isn't theirs...Huh

The splash contained a fair amount of whiskey, so it was out. And the soap had a little bit - and as I don't know the laws for that, I played the "better safe than sorry" card. Plus we were limited in the amount of castoreum we had, so if we would have opened it up to Americans, they would have bought it all before Canadians had a chance.

Plus.. about time us Canucks have something LE, since it's often difficult or expensive for us to get things that are so easily accessible in the U.S. Smile

But I'm a big fan of Bret Hart, Ryan...

Awesome! If you have time to post your impressions that would be greatly appreciated! (Lots of water)

It was people who were against animal cruelty. I get it, but I didn't bother going into the metrics of it. Like how beaver pelts are becoming next to worthless - combined with trapping becoming a lost skill as the younger generation isn't as interested in those types of things. This is causing a large beaver population which can cause a lot of problems and desctruction to property.

My friend said that people use to trap for the furs and lots of trappers would just leave the castors. Now trappers are getting more $ for the castors than the pelts.

Just finished my first shave with the new T+S formula. I initially planned to try Morocco, but at the last moment changed my mind and used Maya. I must say that my entire life anything that had any of the cloves scent was a no-go for me. Until tonight... The scent is beautifully balanced, intriguing, and refreshing, while being dark and mature. The soap performs outrageously well. If the initial T+S formula was a straight A+, then this iteration has instantaneously earned AAA in my opinion.

As Ryan mentioned above this soap is rather thirsty and it takes water as a champ! I loaded for less than 45 seconds and the amount of lather turned out to be intimidatingly huge. Once the lather is properly hydrated (and it was not difficult to dial it in at all) it makes the razor glide effortlessly  leaving no stubble or irritation behind. I could not resist and after I rinsed at the end of my third pass, I applied the remaining lather and let it sit on my face for a few minutes, which resulted in a serene sensation of a rejuvenated, clean, and hydrated skin.   I did not plan on purchasing the entire line up, but I just went ahead a procured the remaining two scents (Himalaya and West Indies). Additionally, this soap is as organic as it could be, which for me is a huge plus. Ryan, this soap is AWESOME! Here is my SOTD.

I’m with Red Tipped Cobra and Freddy — 150 sounded like a great offering, but at the same time I’m happy that you were able to offer something Canadian strictly for Canadians. Happy2

ANG69, thanks for sharing your initial impressions on the new formula! Maya was very intriguing when I first heard about it, and now I’m even more interested.

Oh, and Ryan @ Tallow + Steel, the artwork and presentation of these new products just astounds me with its brilliance. Some people say such things don’t matter. Well, maybe they don’t if the product itself is garbage, but it seems you have created the whole deal here — supreme packaging with great contents… Looks like I need to make room in my shaving repository.

I agree with Matsilainen - the artwork is beautiful and I think that although a cool label isn't necessary, its like icing on the cake when you have a great product in the tub. When I'm using a soap with great artwork on it I will place the lid on the countertop in a manner such that I can see the artwork while I'm shaving, and also be reminded of what I'm using. I get forgetful sometimesBig Grin
