Well, I was fortunate to get one from WCS as I had only read great things about this soap. I am here to tell you that my Double Trouble came and it is a simply superb shave soap. BUT, the scent of this one!! Good Lord!! I have never smelled anything on Earth like it!!  Confused The maker says:

Leather
• Motor Oil
• Cedar
• Coffee
• Rose

All I get is the motor oil and a mess.  Sad  Damn!! This is simply a stunning example of shave soapery, but I just don't know if I can live with the scent. I don't know whether to sell it or label it Hazmat!!  Huh  Wink

One of the best bases around but when I read the scent notes I knew it wouldn't be for me.

I had a feeling this was going to be the case. I did miss out on it and was hoping to get it regardless of the odd scent profile. Now I am sure that I won’t be looking for this one on the secondary market either lol. I truthfully wanted to get the set just to trade it for VOF.

How did you find the scent?

It's not unpleasant but the Jimmy Choo scent didn't wow me. Also, the scent off the tub wasnt strong at all and the AS only seem to last an hour.

I just wasn't wowed and with that specific scent and with Talbot I want to be wowed.

Honestly, like Wholly Kaw I find Talbots scents the lesser of the quality of their bases.

If you like that cologne scent then make sure you grab a tub and as. For longevity you will need the actual edt though.

I love Wholly Kaw but I would have to agree. I buy WK based on performance and scent is a secondary incentive. Although I do find Sri has really upped the game with Pashas Pride. In this one you got an awesome strong scent with good longevity and excellent performance. I was really happy with that one and I am also contemplating buying a second set Incase he intends to discontinue it. Talbot I wish I could speak on but I have never tried a single set.

I really liked the WK Fougere Boquet sample I had & it was scented strong. However, A&E takes the trophy here. I just ordered Socal Hipster as I have read it's his best scent and I love their soap base. Heart

My Talbot Double trouble is out for delivery and I cannot wait to experience for myself that industrial scent. I spent a good chunk of my life in manufacturing business and the motor oil scent would be a perfect addition to my den!

EDIT: Just received the soap and the scent is absolutely in my wheelhouse. Almost sentimental!
