Stirling Soap 316 Stainless Steel Razor

Reporting on first 2 shaves using both baseplates. The hyper efficient baseplate and a 2 pass BBS shave but not the most comfortable shave. The razor has plenty of blade feel and I can handle that but at this moment in time there are other razors I have that can also deliver a 2 pass BBS where I not only don’t have to focus as much but they are just plain smoother with better face feel as well. I feel the same with the so called mild plate. Just not that comfortable. I really want to like this razor as the folks at Stirling are really good people but I shaved with both of these as a tester early on and wish there had been some changes made to provide both better face feel and a smoother all around shave still maintaining the efficiency level. I have to say fit and finish are very good so quality of the build is there and the presentation is very nice. I don’t think another shave is going to change my opinion so I’m going to pass these along to the next person on the list. I’d like to thank andrewjs18 and Stirling the opportunity to shave with these two razors.

No launch news yet, sadly. I'm trying to avoid being impatient, as I know the machine shop is operating at a reduced capacity due to covid restrictions, but I really want to get these completed. Everything that has gone on with these has made me reconsider whether or not I want to do it again.
