Single-Edge Sunday / SEptember

Prep: P.A.A. Cube 2.0 (face wash)

Blade: Schick
Razor: Eversharp-Schick Injector Razor Type G (1946 - 1949 G1)

Brush: Omega Boar 10005/80005
Soap: 345 Soap Co. Undercut
Bowl: Bluff Cove Pottery

Post 1: P.A.A. Alum No-Slip Grip System w/ Dry Dock System
Post 2: Dickinson's Enhanced Witch Hazel Deep Cleanser Astringent w/ Menthol & Eucalyptus
Aftershave: Pre De Provence No.63 balm

Today's shave was one I've been looking forward to for many reasons. A new soap to try, a new bowl to build lather with and another dance with the Type G I've so quickly fallen in love with. If you've been following my shaves you'll know that I only recently began shaving with single-edge razors. You might also recall that I spoke of a new love affair between myself and the lovely Type G razor. For all of these reasons today's shave was exciting for me.

I did a four pass shave. One with the grain, 2 across the grain (each direction) and one against the grain. The 345 Soap Co. Undercut soap lathered up real well in my new Bluff Cove Pottery bowl. The soap was slick and performed well with good cushion and glide. The scent is great by the way! It has notes of lily, patchouli, sandalwood, vanilla and some soft notes of tobacco, cedar and amber. I really did like this one. Check them out if you're curious and not familiar with them.

The bowl worked really nice as well with its inner texture. I'm looking forward to experimenting with it more.

I'm total I achieved a nice bbs shave with this setup today and have furthered my love affair with the Type G.

So far Single-Edge September has been quite fun. I've got some new single-edge surprises to come but you'll have to wait and see.

Take care gentlemen and shave on.

Indeed, injectors are something unique! It was several years after using DEs that I had my first injector shave, with a Type G. I couldn't beleive the quality of the shave! As many have said, it felt like cheating. But I soon added a few more and have settled on 4 now that I am thoroughly pleased with. Glad you discovered them!
