Hey Scott! Question, do you think that there is going to be any difference in shaves between a .68 straight bar (like yours) and a .68 closed comb (basically the scalloped straight bar) like mine. I never understood why Timeless did that. I Understand selling an open comb vs. a straight bar, but have no idea (other than aesthetics) why they did that, making a closed comb as well.

Hey Tone. It's a good question. I've shaved with both base plates using the same plain cap. Timeless says it is slightly milder with the solid bar and I would tend to agree. Very minor, but maybe a difference. I think you hit the nail on the head: aesthetics. Their scalloped cap is very cool visually, and they wanted a base plate that similarly separated them from the competition. So they made a scalloped (closed comb as you call it) base plate. It is their own unique look and very popular based on what I have seen.
