All,

I wanted to open this sale back up and try again.  The two elite Razor brushes from the last sale were spoken for, but I still have the Thater, Shavemac and I wanted to add a Delta Echo slim.

First is the Thater, a 4292/5 26mm 2-band.  Very very soft brush but I enjoyed it at a time when I was bowl lathering more.  Now I face lather and I like a brush with less loft.  This brush was $162 brand new and I'm selling it here for [s]$75 $70 $65 $57 shipped CONUS.[/s]
SOLD!!!

Next is a Shavemac Custom two-band that I ordered through Shavemac's configurator.  Its the same deal as the Thater.  This brush is probably the best bowl lathering brush you will ever find.  It is EXTREMELY soft and plush, pillowy.  This brush cost me over $170 to make brand new and I'm selling it here for [s]$75$70 shipped CONUS.  If you have never tried a Shavemac 2-band this is a good deal.[/s]
SOLD

Finally is a Delta Echo slim in fantastic condition.  When I got my first Slim from Delta Echo, I loved it so much I ordered a second one.  It was gratuitous and one Slim is plenty.  Selling the second one here for $70 shipped CONUS. SOLD.

Prices reduced on everything. I'll ship the brushes for less than half of what I paid.

Could someone PM me and explain to me why this sale is crappy? Let me know, I take criticism well. Better pictures? Not sure what is going on here. Seems like a square deal.

I'll take my guesses (as someone who would buy all three items a few months ago)

1. Availability of Paladin - So the allure of high end brushes for folks like me who are kind of starting out on expensive stuff, is not that strong.

2. Tips of the hairs look beaten for some reason. Looks like they survived Irma :/. Handles aren't fancy looking (for me that's a non factor) even though both of these shapes are extremely comfortable.

3. These aren't the newest greatest(!) thing. I am fairly sure if you and I come up with a 'new' made in America brush today, it will have higher demand than your wonderful Shavemac and Thater (at least for a week!).

4. Finally on slim, those who loves vintage razors already have some. And those like me who doesn't care that much about 'history of razors' or 'good old days', have tried a few vintages and found them inferior to the modern offerings.

Just random thoughts, but still, anyone who is looking at these brushes, should really buy them.

I appreciate the thoughts on the sale and agree with all but number 2.  The reason the tips of the hair look "beaten" is because they are hooked tips.  This is actually a very desirable trait in badger brushes.  After use and a bit of break-in, many badger brushes have the tips hook on them which makes the brush feel even softer than when initially used.

As far as everything else, I think you've got great points.  Not sure how I address them honestly.

SCShaver , I mentioned about the tips for the looks only. I know they are hooked - now. Few months younger me wouldn't know that Big Grin.

The Shavemac looks wonderful to my eyes. What's the loft and how is it for face lathering? How's the backbone? As tempting as this brush is, I am probably not your guy since I've been acquiring gear at too fast a clip as it is... But perhaps adding some more detail about the above would help with your sale.

In terms of the Slim, I think it is just a question of finding the right person for it. I have a Slim already but just a regular vintage one. I found it to be a GREAT starter razor that I could almost certainly have used forever except that I splurged on a Timeless after I got into the hobby. I still use the Slim for travel and still very much enjoy it.

Incidentally, you VERY nearly had me on one of the Elite brushes... they caught my eye as well. Glad to see they sold before I was forced to reach out.

So the loft on the Shavemac is 56mm. The backbone is probably less than medium on it, which is why I highly recommend it for bowl lathering. It can face lather and its like a pillow, but I personally like a bit more backbone in a brush. I wouldn't want to sell someone on something thats not right for them.

I believe the loft on the Thater is 58mm but its a touch smaller of a knot. For some reason it feels like it has more backbone and does a better job at face lathering. If someone face lathers and is interested in these two brushes, I would recommend the Thater over the Shavemac personally.

Your sale is nice actually.
Even though Shavemac and Thater to me are as good as Paladin, Declaration, and M&F, they are easily available so for some hobbyists, they lose luster.
If I was looking for a brush, I would jump on your sale, but I have 15.

Your sale is fine. I'm more into smaller fan brushes but that Shavemac looks sweet indeed. The Delta Echo looks nice too but I'm a straight razor user.

Good luck with the sale!

Cheers, Steve
