Thanks everyone for the suggestions so far!

Cella is already on my 'must buy sometime' list, because I love marzipan.

A PM has been sent to DapperDragon to enquire.

kwsher - the WM Neumann Old Fashioned Soda soap sounds very promising, and tantalizing even if it's not quite the Dr Pepper smell I'm looking for, but to get one USD$28 tin to my door in Canada would(or could) end up costing me USD$58, so that's a no go. Actually, $28 is a "treat price" anyhow, far more than I'd ordinarily be prepared to pay for a soap for myself. Yes, it's more than twice the size of most soaps, but do I really need/want a 1/2lb of one soap? No, not unless I know I love it already. I see WMN does samples of their scents via their aftershave line only, and though they're offered at a reasonable price for a nice selection of samples, it's a no go for cross-border shipping. Stymied again!

Might do the Stirling samples, as I've not tried them yet and they've got lots of scents and ACTUALLY DO SAMPLES (THANK YOU, STIRLING!), and have 'at cost' shipping to Canada. If I do, that probably won't be for a few months 'cos of too many purchases recently, and this month's shaving budget is already accounted for!

If anyone happens to come across any other suggestions, keep posting, I'll be watching!
Thanks!

Hmm, maybe there is a birch beer out there (if you have not had this think root beer with wintergreen mint).

Edit -there is birch beer, called Viking on etsy and K Shave Worx Shave Your Mug (they say its rootbeer but not to my nose). Has to be a dr pepper somewhere.

Eric @ Dapper Dragon makes good stuff and is really flexible on the custom scents (assuming he can find or blend what you're looking for in a fragrance). I talk to him fairly regularly so I'll mention it to him directly.

He may be willing to do a small run of it if enough people are interested.

I'd love a Dr. Pepper scented soap as well Big Grin

I love Stirling Black Cherry too. I could definitely see where a Dr. Pepper fan would like it also.

So I had another Dr Pepper yesterday and did some deep inhaling as soon as I opened the can. I do now understand the marzipan resemblance, but, that distinctive 'high note' is only a one aspect of the Dr Pepper scent, not the dominant one. It's more like cola + cherry + vanilla + almonds + spices.

I contacted DapperDragon just to enquire whether it is a scent that he had ever considered or received requests for - he hadn't, however he said he had considered doing some kind of cola-scented soap. And he added that Dr Pepper is one of his favourites (sodas, I inferred).

I wasn't looking to have a custom soap made at this time, but yes, that is doable, DD indicated. And relatively speaking, it doesn't sound too expensive to have done - though price is dependent on the scents he already has on hand vs would need to order.

I know Stirling Soap Company also does customs, but as they've got lots of interesting soap scents available in sample size, I was thinking of ordering some in a few months' time (as I'm more than good for soap right now) and having some fun experimenting with scent combinations by grating/mashing-up the samples. I'm thinking: Almond Creme + Black Cherry + Pharaoh's Dreamsicle + Vanilla-Sandalwood + Ben Franklin might get me close to a Dr Pepper-like shaving soap. And if it doesn't, well it'll give me something interesting, and I'll have a nice variety of stand-alone samples to enjoy! Smile

Combining some Stirling samples is a cool idea, plus you’ll be able to see if one of those scents has what it takes to become a favorite of yours on its own.

I just thought of another soap, and that’s Wickham Soap Co’s “Club Cola”. I have another scent from them and it’s a really nice soap, but I haven’t tried this one. In spite of its name, Club Cola seems to be rather citrusy, so I have no idea if it’s anywhere near cola or especially Dr. Pepper territory, but maybe still something to keep in the back of the mind.
Whenever I go to shave, I assume there’s someone else on the planet shaving, so I say “I’m gonna go shave, too.”

Wickhams Club Cola is a very good match for exactly that - Cola - unfortunately for the OP I think it may lack the cherry/marzipan undertones.

Agreed to both. Also worth reaching out to Rod to see if he can whip up a custom for you. I'd just keep in mind that your requested scent might not play they way you think whilst shaving.
