Soap Gone Bad - Mike's Lavender

I always freeze my Cella when not in daily rotation. But honestly I have never had soap go bad. Ever.

Then again, I have never had a Lavender soap either.

I had an unused tub of soap go bad once. This is what it looked like. Mold growing on the edges. (Please no speculating on the soap maker. They already resolved the problem)


I had a red tub of Cella go rancid a few years ago. Smelled horrible.

I don't think lavender is the issue here. That being said, I have never had a Mike's, nor any soap for that matter, go bad.

The soap looks melted, I have Mike's lavender, and there is nothing like that. Perhaps the soap was stored incorrectly and was spoiled.

Which way of storing can cause that? I have 68 other soaps stored in the same way.

As I mentioned in my post, I too have six other Mike soaps , some are 3 years old, and working fine.

How exactly do you incorrectly store a jar of soap? I'm sure most of us let it dry, put the cap back on and it goes back into a drawer or on a shelf. This is an issue with the soap itself, not the OP's storage method.

This refers to the storage of soap in the warehouse of the seller prior to purchase, or during shipment. I once received melted soap, it was in the summer heat.
