I'd been hearing great things about Soap Commander from Chris Bailey on youtube, and I wanted to try it so I placed an order for a tub of Inspiration Shaving Soap, and a bath bar of the same. The order was shipped promptly and arrived today.
Included with the order is a handwritten thank you card signed by Carrie. What a great touch. I don't know Carrie or her husband, and this is my first order, and I'm impressed by that touch of customer care. Also included is a sample moisturizer.
I shaved when I got back from the gym and Bailey is right. This is wonderful soap. Great scent which is strong but not cloying. It's easy to lather. And it provided a dense cushion of slick protection that helped my Feather Artist Club slide across my face, mowing the whiskers without hacking the skin. Great post-face feel too, amplified by a splash of Osage Rub.
UPDATE: Picked up the Respect balm today at Pasteur. Smells wonderful. Can't wait to try it tonight.
UPDATE: I'm now obsessed with Soap Commander. From Maggard's I got a tub of the Love Shaving Soap, which is their substitute for Klar Kabinett, which I never used. I've used other rose-scented soaps but this rocks. The shave is outrageously good. The scent is magnificent. I followed it with the Love Aftershave Balm, also from Maggard's. I came up smelling, literally, like a rose. My face felt great.
And the balms!!!!!!!! The scents are magnificent. The performance second to none. I'm not shilling for them, I don't know them, but I would be glad to shill for them, they are just that good. And, best of all, they reek of integrity. They are my new favorite artisan soap and balm maker. I still have lots of love for Stirling and Reef Point and Ginger's Garden, etc. But my shaving heart belongs to the Sieberts.
