+1

Just focus on hygiene.
Wash your hands when come back home.
And apply disinfectants, gel on hands, liquid on things.
Over the hands, the face, glasses, smartphone, ...
Do it as first thing.
So home will stay clear and safe.

BTW, to touch the face outside, It's better to use tissues. The paper single use ones.

Wearing mask makes impossible to not touch the face.
So, IF it's possible, NOT use it.
If you need it, study and learn how technically is the proper way to use it.
As pharmacist in Italy, at work I'm ruled to wear mask and gloves ... so I do.
But in my personal life, outdoor too, I don't.
Studies show that it's better to focus NOT unuseful strategy (mask, gloves, etc), but the three point that slow and reduce contagion:
1. Distance
2. Hygiene and disinfection
3. Avoid dirty hands on face

I remember a time when there NOT was so many drugs, when doctors was used to heal people (not just massage a disease), and was normal to use Vitamins and food to help and fortify the immune system.
It's well proved that Lisozime, Lactoferrine, Vit.A, Vit.D, Vit.C, antioxidants as Resveratrol, Beta Glucans as dehydrated Beer Yeast ... all these simple remedies works fine on ALL viruses.
Just search the internet which foods have a good amount of each components, as egg for the first, milk for the second, and so on.

Specifically, about COVID19, this virus enter the body though the face mucosa, mainly the mouth; so a simple Iodide Tincture solution (10 drops in 100ml water) to use as mouth wash after oral hygiene, three times a day, It's very useful.
Useful as to nose wash, also three times a day.

I think THIS is all we can do as persons, citizens, and intelligent human beings. Waiting and hoping for a quick result of the research, to have vaccine and drug that work on the virus SARS2-nCov19 to cure, NOT just to manage symptoms in a hospital.

Take care and be safe.

Good write up. I'm high risk too, and I basically just do hand washing ... but not obsessively. I didn't know what quats are, so I asked my friend google.

Yikes! Who would use a quat on food surfaces!?? That's just asking for trouble! One still needs to use the brain, but alas, many people today have no common sense so I suppose it needs to be spelled out.

FWIW, if it's used from a wipe and not a spray it doesn't get airborne to irritate the lungs (but I never had that problem in the decades that I've used quats). But we all decide our own path. Washing of hands after the shopping cart handle? That doesn't happen and I knew that going in. I could wear gloves, but that's a bit much and I never have. Big Grin What would be next after gloves? A full body condom? Big Grin

I appreciate it, thanks for the link esp' for those on the fence. Too, quats need contact time to fully work.

FWIW, bleach at 1:5 and 60% alcohol also work. Just be careful since alcohol is quite flammable and the flames can be almost invisible. Soap also works by removing the fat sheath that protects the DNA strand, it just takes longer for the DNA strand to degrade. Can it still infect with the fat sheath removed? IDK.

A great video from a NYC doctor telling you how to keep you and your family safe from COVID-19. Sure it’s long, but at about 5:30, he describes that transmission for most cases requires sustained, prolonged contact with an infected person...on the order of 15 to 30 minutes. This is why social distancing works so well and also gives us more reason not to panic.

Disposable gloves are like hen's teeth around here. I go into the store, most of the time the hand sanitizer, or wipes are gone. I go to the checkout, get two plastic bags, put them over my hands and do my shopping. Toss them when I'm done. I'm 71, so high risk. If it isn't Covid 19 it'll be something else ... I've lived a lot longer than I thought I would. To be out of the body is to be present with the Lord !

While using a high concentrate of alcohol based after shave I feel a certain amount of face and neck protection ( for a while anyway). So shaving is not bad after all.
