We've seen this before.

Oh horror of horrors. Someone doesn't share your views on something so they become a troll? How rude and disparaging.

I have no issue with facial hair itself. I don't care if someone only shaves themselves into a goatee or a nice set of burnsides. They still have some pride in their appearance.

Freddy is spot on. Please link one constructive post you have made. From your introductory "here's everywhere I have been banned" post through the one on facial hair, every one of your posts has been derogatory. Why not try to share some experience you have with others?

I would point out in the Torah Satan was the most beautifull of the angels. Buddhism holds you never know when you are talking to one and in hinduism the godhead is expressed within all. Many peoples tell stories of the stranger of unknown or low status who is in reality a representative or the specific cultural diety itself judging people by their reception.
My post was to demonstrate such people, not outright condemn those judgemental while lacking that personal attention to their toilet in better circumstances. It is my experience; those catterwalling about people who look different 'sticking it to the man' are themselves impaled morally, economically and emotionally by that very big brother boogey man currently incarnated in a phallic overly long red tie and not some SAG actor auditioning for another revival of HAIR.

Those vets learned to take pride in their appearance a very long time ago, and are still trying their utmost to look the best they can. They are people im proud to call shavers. They don't have the money to spend on shaving equipment, and are making due with handsoap from the bathroom dispenser. They manage.

Far to many folks on this and other forums, complain they can barely manage a decent shave with a 500$ custom straight razor, 50$ soaps and creams, and a few grand in sharpening equipment. People on forums can learn a hell of a lot from those two friends of yours about what shaving is actually about, something that is very lost on some of the biggest names on the forums.

There is a quotation from Benjamin Franklin that roughly goes "teach a man how to shave himself, and you have taught him how to have self pride".

I AM a big name on the forums. Women cover children's eyes, grown men falter in their steps and pit bulls roll over on their backs in submission when I post. To date, no shaver has put a gun to my head and deprived my liberty or material possessions. If they want to howl like a alpha wolf that just got laid it wont effect my blood pressure or testosterone levels.
However, people reincarnated from the negative half of a Sears Diehard battery in a VW beetle abandoned in New Mexico do.

That Bald Guy with the Big Beard

What gets me pissed off, is the geniuses who actually grow a beard or goatee or whatnot as a way to stick it to the "man" by having a non conservative appearance. I never personally understood the logic that makes a person decide to do something simply because their particular viewpoint on something will make them dress a certain way.

I think you are just projecting.

Tell me...how many of these horrible people have you actually sat down and had a conversation with about why they chose to grow a beard? My guess is that you've limited your curiosity to the 1 or 2 friends you've known since childhood that recently decided to grow a beard.

My beard is older than the term "hipster". I grew it because I've always wanted a big, huge, ZZ Top-worthy mane. I have been clean shaven in over 20 years.

Clearly my beard and my hirsute pursuit predates your view of hipsters and political affront. Clearly your perspective on facial hair is narrow in scope, narrow in perception, and bottlenecks in comprehension.

I've never understood the logic of a grown adult worrying themselves over why another grown adult chooses to dress and present themselves in a certain way. To me, the idea of being offended at another's personal style is not only infantile and elementary, it's self important, entitled and ridiculous.

Worry about your own choices. And if you ever find yourself in Bishop, CA, please look for the big ass beard and bald head. Please tell me how much my beard offends you. Please feel free to explain to me in great detail what you think about my personal choices in hirsute presentation.

Don't be surprised if the conversation leaves you feeling less than welcome and comfortable...

I'm going to attend the Bishop Mule Days hopefully again.I shall wear a 3 piece suit. Old friends will know my packer credentials while others think me outsider. I will connect with my fellow Chris and talk in a strange patois of shaving terms unknown to waxed moustaches, multiple break wranglers over packer boots, worn skoal circles in the pocket and 'wild rags' I used to call a bandanna. They will look at us in curiosity how to dissimilar looking men could become lost in a language some fool will decide is arabic and call the FBI. it will be fun.

I make it a point to be out of town during Mule Days, at least to the extent that I am in the foothills, away from the crowds and asses...

I've never (to my knowledge) met a guy with facial hair who didn't like it that way. I had a beard once, then I shaved it off. My wife was indifferent. My son and son in law might have a beard last week and be clean shaven next week. Facial hair truly has nothing to do with anything connected to a man's character or intelligence. One confession --- I am insanely jealous of the two members of ZZ Top who have massive beards. Those guys obviously have a lot more fun than me! And money! And talent!
