½ of the razors have been assembled. I expect to have ¾ (~38 razors) assembled by 4pm and the rest on Monday 27th.

Realistic date to ship is now Tuesday April 24th. Assembly is slower than we had anticipated - the project is assigned 1 assembly technician who is only working 3hrs/day (1-4) and assembling these for the ‘1st’ time. I will share an accurate count of the fully assembled razors including a photo at ~4:30pm. I will also hang around to answer any questions or chat then.

Here is a photo of the assembly job this afternoon. We have 39 done. 12 more to go.

Gents,

Assembly of all 51 razors is done. Now onto the ‘red ink dots’ just about the dial knob, at the base of the safety guard and twice on the toggle knob. They are gonna let me in the shop tomorrow to do final inspection and sign them out. In normal times, I would have helped with the assembly. And then onto shipping on Tuesday afternoon/evening. Almost there! Almost there!

New Update
I finished the inspecting all the assemblies this afternoon. 23 razors did not pass – dial knobs are stuck. Excessive amounts of purple Loctite was used and it wicked into the wrong places. I refused to accept and sign for a partial.

So, we came up with a plan to disassemble those razors and clean the parts. I will be present to help with assembly and make sure assembly goes right. The shop is making an exception for a non-employee to be present. I must be present this time around! Three afternoons to carefully disassemble and clean (starting tomorrow) and then another two afternoons to assemble those 23 razors.

It is not lost on me that I'm at the end of the patience runway because of the endless production delays. To those who ordered, I know you are disappointed that the wait has stretched this far. Sincere apologies! I'm terribly embarrassed by these delays.
Why not ship out the ones that are complete and the others to follow

Thanks Eric. I don't mind waiting more in order to get a product that passed all quality controls, rather than getting something rushed through.

Hi Eric
Why not ship all the approved razors so at least those don't have to wait any longer and ship the rest when they are completed in 5 working days

Good question - I thought about it for a while. I wanna see how bad the bad ones are. Depending on what we see after opening, I might want to have a couple (maybe 3) of the good ones opened to make sure they are not on the 'edge'.

Janus Razors thank you for all the hard work, adjustments, and overtime you’re putting in to make sure we receive a razor of utmost quality. Your communication has been fantastic as well!

Take care

Eric, Janus Razors knowing these razors are high end both in price and quality, I very much appreciate you rechecking the razors before they leave. I would much rather wait another week or so knowing that when I get mine it passed your quality inspection.

What difference does it make waiting an extra 5, 7 or 10 days gentlemen ? We’ve waited this long already. Mark is right as this is a high end product and Eric Janus Razors cannot afford to ship out substandard instruments. The extra time needed to disassemble, clean and reinspect them could be crucial for THE BRAND. Given Eric’s transparency and hands-on engineering I’d only expect a high quality release but only when ready. We all know about companies releasing “beta” version as full products - they don’t do as well. Patience you must have, my young Padwan(s)

Janus Razors Eric I'm with most who say send them when you feel they are up to your standards after all they have your name on every single one of them. I have no problem waiting another week or two weeks if that's what it takes. These are difficult times right now I know in my business it takes me 2 to 3 times longer to get some things done than before this situation has interfered with our normal lives and daily rituals.

Yes. Please take your time and get these up to your high standards. Part of the fun behind backing this project has been watching you bring your vision and dream into reality. That's what I am supporting here. As reviews start to come out once the razors are in the wild you will want people to be raving about them in a good way. To see your vision in action.

The extra attention to detail and perfection is what is expected from a high end premium product like this. Your communication has been top notch. People have known exactly where these are in the process the entire time. I've been extremely impressed by how things have gone, which isn't something I can say about many of the projects I've backed. I'm happy to wait because I know you'll get these right.

Eric just sent out email (sorry as I don't know how to copy it with all pictures) looking at a May 6 shipping date after his quality control
