Janus lev 6 vs Charcoal Goods Copper Level 2
Not a lot of beard to shave after last nights shave so I dialed down the Janus to 6 and pulled out my 2nd gen CG.
Pre shave Castle & Forbes
Blade Palm stripped first use Feather
Soap C & F Lavender
Brush Dec Grooming B6 on C & R handle
AS C & F Lavender
Beard growth was pretty equal on both sides after last nights shave so I gave the Janus my left side.
First Pass WTG
Both razors easily took down most of the beard easily and were equally smooth in doing it.
2nd Pass ATG
For the first time the Janus was not quite as smooth as its competitor, the CG was slightly smoother ATG and I must say slightly more efficient. After these 2 passes I had a few pick-up spots on both sides but more on the Janus side. After the pickups both sides were BBS but I did have a small weeper on the Janus side, my fault as I think I got carried away buffing that spot.
I may have done a disservice to the Janus by dropping down to 6 but the CG is a great smooth razor and slightly beat out the Janus tonight.
What I have seen with these shaveoffs is that the Janus is beating or very closely competing with what I consider to be some of the best razors out there. It is truly a very smooth yet when dialed up, very efficient Adjustable.

Janus Lev 9 vs RS 10 Ti aggr
This will most likely be my last shave comparison and was by far the best shave I have had with the Janus. I think I now have a good feel of this razor after 5 straight days of using it.
Pre-Shave Hot Shower
Blades 2nd use Feather
Brush Elite Manchurian
Soap VanYulay Gnothi Seauton
AS Chatillion Luxe Lavender
First Pass WTG
The Janus took my right side and easily wiped away the majority of my beard. This razor is the smoothest Adjustable I have ever used. Grabbed the RS10 for my left and immediately felt the huge weight difference. The RS10 had a softer feel and was slightly smoother. Quick rinse and it was apparent the Janus took off more beard.
2nd Pass XTG
Both razors were very smooth with a slight advantage to the Ti RS10, quick rinse and both sides were BBS on my face and DFS on my neck. The Janus even took nearly all the stubble off my jawline.
3rd Pass ATG
Again both razors had no problem going ATG on my neck and jawline and under my nose, these areas are difficult for many razors I have tried. Final cold water rinse and I had the best shave of the week so far. I will see how long it lasts but it feels like one of those 18 hr duration shaves.
I definitely think the Janus is a daily driver type razor, especially when I can dial it down the day after a great shave. 5 days in a row with no irritation whatsoever and I used Level 9 several times with excellent results. It doesn’t look like the Kickstarter campaign will make it so I hope Eric has other ideas on how to make this razor go into production.
Enjoy your shave gentleman

Thanks for your reviews Mark but I'm curious when you used the Janus @9 and stated "smoothest adjustable I have ever used" that says a lot as I know you have used toggles, FBs or slims. But what about the vintage Gibbs (ie Frenchie pooh pooh) which can be both very smooth and efficient. Also how does it compare in your opinion to the Merkur adjustables as anyone can get a Progress or Futur ? How about the (discontinued) Vision which to me the Janus seems comparable in size/bulk - I recall the Vision surprised many in its efficiency during a shave off.

Hi AJ
I think I can answer for myself and Mark as we talked about the Janus last night. I can say up until using the Janus my smoothest adjustable was close between the Gillette Toggle and the the Gibbs adjustable with the Gibbs being a bit more smoother and definitely more efficient. This is taking all the adjustables I've done Shave Offs with include razors like the Fatboy, Slim, Rex, vintage Progress and modern Mergress etc. The Janus has taken smoothness to new level and added a step up in efficiency comparing to any adjustables and many DE's and SE"s. Mark and I both said if we could by the prototype we both would. We like it that much. A real shame if it never gets to market. I think Eric needs an investor with sales and marketing experience. Just my 2 cents.

AJSharp As Frank States Above I have or had Rex, Gibbs, Rocnel, Merkur Future and Vision, Parker Variant, Slim, Fatboy, Black Beauty and Toggle that I recall and the Janus is smoother than all of them and more efficient or as efficient

Mark let me guess the Adjustable that was the closest in efficiency was your Rocnel right?

Yes I would say the Rocnel at 8 was as efficient but not as smooth

Which Rocnel adjustable are you referring to? (The B&R or the Sailor)

I just wanna note in here, since I was thinking that Janus might be pretty heavy razor (like over 150 grams).
I asked him about the weight of Janus. He replied me 120 grams, it is pretty acceptable.
Rex and Rocnel Sailor are very efficient and smooth for me, I really wonder Janus now.

I had the B&R adjustable You could take it past 8 but I never went any higher than 8
