The list is now full.

I'll post the names up as soon as I get all the info on each person on the list.

It may take a little time my friends as I have a very early appointment tomorrow morning and I also will post up the last Shave Off as well tomorrow in the afternoon. If anyone has more questions about how the Janus razor shaves please feel to ask me. If it's about the mechanics of the razor please ask Eric. Tomorrow the razor heads to Mark Shavemd and he will post more Shave Offs. I'll be checking in as well.

Thanks gentlemen and great shaves!

UPDATE

Here is the list of members who made the list. We did some figuring out and we were able to have 9 instead of 8 so I'm happy we could get one more on the list. Some members on the list have made it known that they are not only interested in trying out the Janus razor but they are or have already signed up for the kickstarter program. I had quite a few people who either pm me on here or that know me and sent an email or text. I had to look at everyone's history and make decisions. So if you are not on the list please don't take it personally this was a tough choice to narrow it down to 9. Also for those that didn't make the list I'm glad to announce there will likely be another pass around in the future with the possibility of a closer to or maybe even a production version.

If you name is on the list I will send you a request for all your contact info within the next day or two and I will send you some simple instructions on how to proceed with the pass around.

1. Rawfox1"
2. TheHunter"
3. Sharp_Obsession
4. Keyhole
5. AJSharp"
6. HoosierShave"
7. MarsEnglish"
8. Smurfups77
9. Kingfisher

Thank you Gentlemen

Had the last Shave Off this morning using the Janus on # 9 and put it up against the Charcoal Goods Level 3 SB. Had a excellent 2 pass shave and I’ll write up the report when I get home this afternoon.

Shavemd Mark the razor will be on its way to you to continue the comparisons to some of the razors in your den.

Hi Guys

Just a little update on my last Shave Off with the Janus Adjustable vs Charcoal Goods Copper Level 3 SB using Polsilvers in both razors . I did two passes both WTG and ATG and as usual I gave each razor 1 section on my more difficult right side and one on my easier to shave left side. The Charcoal I gave my right side face and the Janus my most difficult right side neck . The Charcoal exhibited more blade feel but still is a smooth shaver and when compared to my CG Level 3 OC maybe a touch smoother but not by much. Efficiency is also just a tad under my CG L 3 OC. Comparing this razor to the Janus is more like comparing it to my WR2 1.35 SB but that razor is more efficient and blade feel on the both is similar and I'd have to do a side by side to be absolutely sure. The Janus as I've stated with each shave is smoother than maybe any other very to extremely refficient azor I've ever shaved with and the only two I didn't have a chance to do a side by side with that I wish I had the time to do is my WR1 .94 DC and my Raw Shaving SS RS 10 with the aggressive baseplate. I know that Mark Shavemd will be using his very limited edition Titanium RS 10 which he's said is not only smoother than the SS RS 10 he gave to his Son in law but the smoothest very efficient razor in his den if I understood him correctly so we will see how the Janus stacks up against that beauty.

So I'm making a long review very short as I've got limited time to spend on it today but I wanted to post it up before Mark begins his Shave Offs with the Janus. So I got a Level 2 BBS with he Janus and a solid BBS Level 1 with my cheeks the Charcoal Goods in the end. As some of you know normally I do a cotton test to determine what kind of BBS shave I've gotten especially when shaving with razors of this level of efficiency. I was running so late the day I did the Shave Off that I didn't have time so I went to the only other way I determine what kind of BBS I've gotten and that is how long it lasts. How long before the stubble shows up. On each section of my face. As most know when you get a BBS and the hairs are sent below the skin's surface unless you really take your time with a cotton or even a plastic card test it's hard to know actually how close both razors got you. I've done hundreds of these side by side Shave Offs over the last couple of years and I can usually tell by hand feel but now and then I like to double check my evaluation with cotton or just seeing how long before the stubble shows up. Sometimes I do both. Anyway the Janus got me a little bit closer but it's interesting as Eric mentioned to me that he's noticed a difference with blade changes and in this case I did to. I don't use a whole lot of different blades like he does. Primarily I only use Polsilvers, Kai's and my favorite, the Feathers when I hand strop them. So yes I've noticed a difference with each blade change that the efficiency of the razor is different. Not by a whole lot but enough to be noticeable to me. Feathers 1st, Kai's 2nd and Polsilvers 3rd. Of course this is on my face. May be different for others.

So in the end the Janus took this Shave Off but I'll make it clear they are both excellent shavers and I love the looks of the Copper CG with the Anchor handle on it and the Janus really grew on me the more I had it to the point I really like it. In fact I"m going back and forth on whether I'd get the all white gold with the black numbering or the all black with the white.grey numbering.

So it's been fun using he Janus and a excellent shaving experience for me and I can't wait to get the next pre production prototype in my den again for a updated review.

Oh and sorry for the lack of Photos but I realized after I had already packed and put the shipping label on the box that I didn't do my normal photos of the razors and gear I'm using.

So can you please in one sentence for each shave off compare the razor used to the Janus and say which 1 you preferred. Thanks

Thats easy from the time I first saw the Janus I immediately said to myself I'd love to compare that to an original Toggle so that's the tops as far as a total shave experience.

From a competitive, efficiency and a test my SSSST technique standpoint that would absolutely be the WR2 1.35 SB Shave Off and how it ended with the most surprising results of all the Shave Offs when the Janus equaled the WR2 in efficiency on max setting and was smoother to boot.

Wish I had more time with it I'd run it up against the Ikon Tech or Muhle 2011 for another efficiency Shave Off and for a smooth comparison I'd have liked to run it up against the RS 10

Wow that is saying ALOT!!!For the Janus to be as efficient and smoother than the WR2 1.35 is something else. It doesn't look like they kickstarter will fill.

Yeah I was in denial and disbelief when it happened and I'd still like to revisit that one Shave Off just to confirm but the sides I shaved with the Janus lasted just as long as the WR2 1.35 SB and then it exceeded the CG Level 3 SB so yeah it's got to be true and the production one will be even more efficient and I highly doubt it will lose its smoothness and even if it did give up a little to gain even more efficiency it will still be what I consider very smooth!

Eric has an alternative plan to get the razors out even though it will take longer but I know of at least 6 more people plus myself that are signing up.. Some may wait till the last day to do it as I hear that is common place. All I can say it would be a darn shame to not see this razor come to production life. Can't wait to hear your comments on it as I think you're the first on the list for the pass around if I remember correctly.
