Here are my thoughts on the Seygus razor.

Finish: I like the blue anodized look of the razor, however I don't think it is that durable. It had a couple spots on where the coating chipped off. It is an attractive modern looking razor though.

Head: I think Seygus should offer different baseplates similar to Rockwell to up the aggressiveness. This head design offers very little blade gap/exposure which makes finding the correct angle somewhat of a chore. If you look at it from the side, the baseplate sticks out too far away from the blade. It does have somewhat of an SB/OC hybrid baseplate that leaves little lather trails when shaving. This allows you to go back and buff over areas without worrying about irritation.

Handle: The handle is nice and grippy. It's much better with the added weight and length of the stainless steel piece.

Weight: The razor is made of aluminum so it is lightweight which is fine. I don't mind a light razor. I tried it with and without the added weight piece. I much preferred it with the added weight and length of handle.

Efficiency: As already said by just about everybody that has used it, this is a very mild razor almost to the point of ineffective. At least that's what it feels like when you are shaving. I was however able to get a great shave from it. I just didn't like the feel of it. I actually like feeling some blade on my skin.

Value: Having seen that they are now for sale at Shave Nation for $130, for me, the value isn't there. You could buy a stainless Rockwell with 6 different baseplates for $30 less. Just my opinion though.

Ease of use: I found it difficult to find the correct angle. It was either that or it was shaving, you just couldn't tell. Virtually no audible feedback. It could be that I'm so used to using SEs lately, but it made for a weird shaving experience. Loading a blade is standard and it had no blade alignment issues whatsoever.

Bottom line: Even though I was able to get a great shave with the Seygus, this is not a razor for me. It's nice that you can go against the grain or buff to your heart's content (which you're going to need to) with no risk of irritation, I just didn't like the feel of it. I do feel that the Seygus would be a great razor for beginners as it's virtually impossible to cut yourself with it.

I would like to give a big thanks to Gustavo and Andrew for putting this pass around together and making it possible for us to try new things. It makes this whole experience more fun and enjoyable for all of us!

We learn a lot from this and even leads us to chat about the gap and so between my brother in law, the engineer-artisan, and myself. There will be a 0,5 gap head in brass in the future, cause by now the workshop can't derive resources from the main activity, as this is our hobby, no the business. Thanks again, friends, and don't hesitate in criticize the stuff. I like better off a Gillette New LC golden than ours. And ours in brass the OC is close to that Gillette. My favorite handle is one from Wilde&Harte, so... Have a nice shave and keep your preferences just until another razor can change them.

Thanks for the feedback Thalasos! The brass version of your razor is beautiful and should you come out with a new more aggressive head, I would definitely be interested in that. The OC sounds good as well.

People that like and prefer mild razors such as the ASD2 Feather they will for sure appreciate the Brass version of the Seygus and its cheaper vs the Feather.

What Gustavo needs to offer is a head with 0.5 gap (medium) and 1.0 gap ( aggressive)

I had no problem achieving great shave with the brass Seygus, but for some reason I like the feeling of blade to my skin. The Futur replica that I have can be adjusted till infinity, there is no stoppage on how high can you go up in aggressivnes and last night I shaved with it on around setting 8-9 with Feather blade. Something Gustavo should think of designing later down the road is medium and aggressive plates to peak the interests of more people. None the less the brass version even though was super mild gave good shaves after finding the proper angle and worry less buffing lol
