I saw that Ron from Chiseled Face posted these photos earlier of a SE he's designing that takes the GEM blades.

quote from facebook:

Quote:Time to release some exciting news I've been keeping under my hat for about a year. I'm in the process of making a machined 3 piece GEM razor.

As far as I know no one has ever made one before, and after numerous prototypes, this one is just about ready to be manufactured.

Please note, that the pics are of a 3D printed stainless prototype that I had to do some dremel adjustments on, so don't judge the finish quality please! I do love the shave I get from even this rough model though!

Keep your eyes open!

Wow! That came out of nowhere! I knew ATT and Colonial were talking about coming out with an SE that uses Gem style blades, but hadn't heard about this until now.

Interesting! I was wondering when it would happen. Not that specific razor, but just in general.

Unfortunately if it clamps the blade securely it will kill one of the things I must have in a SE razor... sound.

It will be interesting to see what the price point is going to be and where he is going to have them made. Free razor with shaving soap purchase, maybe? LOL

I asked Ron if it has the audible feedback a typical GEM has. I'll let you know what he says..
