I'm just looking for recommendations for a nice long lasting soap scent. Not specifically a certain scent but a soap brand that seems to have the most longevity across all their scents.
I'm fairly new to this hobby if you want to call it that and sofar the B&M Lavanille seems to hold its scent for a number of hours. I don't want to use the specific aftershave. I'm using Barbadeaux AS and it's fantastic.

There really are none unless you have a superhuman sense of smell. Soaps scents tend to disappear as soon as you rinse it off so that's what aftershaves and colognes are for.

I like the scent of a soap to last only because it's something only I can smell ... I don't want to emminate a scent like aftershave or cologne would. Just something light and personal... For me only.

I think some brands do carry on after the rinse, a bit. WCS Gatsby, for example, I felt like I could smell a tiny bit. Still, they generally wash away for the most part. It would be very faint, at best.

Since I don't shave my moustache, what I usually do is rub a tiny bit of unlathered soap on my finger and then into my moustache. I can then usually enjoy the scent (albeit, still light) for a bit longer.

As well, shave soap is as far as I know not non-comedogenic. In other words, if not washed off it will block pores and may cause acne and better yet with a facial cleanser afterwards.
Secretary Ramsey put his foot into it yesterday . . . in the course of his remarks he said that California “needs water and better society.”  “So does h-ll,” yelled someone in the crowd.

I find that, generally, scent with shaving soaps is much more hit or miss than it is with aftershaves, colognes, or eau de toilettes.  I can only assume that part of it is the nature of the product.  Even within soap brands I don’t always find a consistency of scent from soap to soap.

Of course, as has been discussed elsewhere on DFS, a lot depends on how good an individual’s sense of smell is.  That can lessen due to age, medications taken, etc.

I agree with most here that soap scents tend to wash away and be barely noticable. However, there are a couple of soaps I can recommend that I can typically smell on my hands and catch whiffs of from my face later in the day after use. Tabac, Pannacrema Nuavia Blu or Rossa, Stirling Green, Stirling Kaboom, and Mystic Water Bay rum. Now this could just be my sniffer catching these for a period after a shave so your particular mileage may vary with this.

If I think of any others that I can smell post-shave I'll chime back in, those were from the top of my head.

That's generally true, but there are some soaps that contain really, really tenacious fragrance materials that will stick around for a bit even after you rinse them off. Any of our soaps that contain Mousse de Saxe will exhibit this tendency due to their isobutyl quinoline content. Per SCShaver, I've noticed that it's true of Nuavia Blu as well.
