FIRST USE OF SV 80TH
Let me preface this review by saying I AM NOT A FRAGRANCE MAVEN.
The scent off the puck was very strong and perfumed. Interestingly, once I put it in the bowl and started to build a lather, (I scoop) the scent nearly dissapated completely. I read that SV has used a new ingredient to make the lather slicker and better face feel. If they say so. Personally, I didn't notice much of a difference from the Beta 4.3 version, maybe a little, IMHO. However, the SV beta 4.3 is fantastic. It is the best soap I have ever tried, when it comes to building a lather, the texture, the protective nature of it and the slickness. So, this new formula has a lot to live up to. I had no issues building the lather. The soap is moderately thirsty and with the right amount of water, it hydrates very well. The new Natura-tec Plantsil may have given a bit more slickness to the soap and that, in and of itself, is always great.
The A/S is potent at first and then moderates downward. The scent is familiar to me, but I can't place it. With that said, this 80th is not unique in scent. But, I don't really care about that.
Results:
Great lather and scent. The protective elements of the lather are SV worthy.
Is it worth buying? For me, now that I have tried it, YES. For you? Who knows.
I hope this helps in some unscientific manner.
