What would you suggest for the shaving cream with the best rose fragrance? (Performance is less important to me than the fragrance, since the soap makes good lather.)
And those of you who have used rose creams, do any of them discolor the white tips of shaving brushes?
I've tried every rose shaving cream I could get my hands on.
T&H and GFT are the standouts of the creams. T&H maybe has a better, softer scent. GFT knows scents and is probably more sophisticated. Its also for sensitive skin. Either one would be fine. GFT DOES stain the tips at first glance, but the tint goes away when dried or rewet. It is disconcerting when first seen but then you realize it wasn't permanent.
DRH has a reasonable rose, perhaps a bit stronger, but technically maybe not as good IMO as T&H or GFT
TOBS makes a rose but it was one of the few creams that I had an immediate bad reaction to, so bad I tossed it. Don't know what is going on with TOBS but this was the worse one. Some others I had a minor reaction to.
Simpsons Vanilla and Rose is an outstanding scented cream, maybe the best if you like vanilla and rose and its stronger, but performance not on par.
QCS makes Rosso Otto. I found it to be a musky rose, if that makes sense, and not natural. The scent strength remained so thats good.
CRS was a mild feminine scent to me. It was weak and the technical performance lacking.
If you want to stick with a cream, I would go T&H or GFT. Each is slightly different in scent.
Surpassing all the creams, as said above, is LPL Rose. It costs more but this is one of those "you get what you pay for" things. I've been using it lately for the summer. LPL is a lighter scented rose than say Simpsons but is a finely scented and very good soap. Soap Commander Love tries to emulate Klar but IMO, LPL is superior.
