does the new razorock xxx smell like the original razorock xxx? I used my original xxx tub for the first time in years tonight and the scent is fantastic..probably better once it's lathered than directly in the tub.

There was a thread about the LE hard soap, but I don't know if that is what you mean.

I heard from a gent that the old UFO tubs we're the best smelling and the most alike acqua di parma. My memory is a bit fuzzy but I think that's what he said. I never had acqua di parma before though.

What you guys describe is what I was looking for. I bought a normal tub of XXX early last year and it was very lightly scented, and smelled mostly like laundry detergent. I was highly disappointed. The hard version of the soap has me thinking of trying it again, but I don't want to get burned again. So far, Razorock just has not been my brand. Maybe I'll try some of the newer cheaper ones?

For a different type of experience with RazoRock, you might wan to try Santa Maria del Fiore: 8oz glass jar, soft cream, scent is spot on Santa Maria Novella shaving cream.
Otherwise you could wait for what could be another hit, "The Dead Sea" , previewed on Instagram

Man razorock is the shnat! One of the cheaper ones is Zi Pepino which has a scent and performance like it ought to be a 25.00 tub IMO, I have never had issue with any RR soap they all perform very well, and the scents are amazing. Freedberg is another great smelling one. As for XXX I have it, and it performs great like all the rest, I just don't care for the scent, too lemony for my taste.

I shaved today for the first time with the Razorock XXX that is currently on the market now. I got a fantastic shave.

However, this thread is about scent. I've been bitten by the wet shaving bug and have quickly accumulated a multitude of scents. The scent of this soap a absolutely awesome. I'm and old school guy and don't want a new product to be better than my Clubman or Aqua Velva.

I gots to be honest, this was the best masculine scent I have ever experienced. It smells like an awesome masculine scent. I don't know how else to describe it. I'm pretty sure there was some sandlewood in there, but the profile was much more complex.

bluesbox commented that his Razorock is a bit on the lemony side for him. I can't specifically identify any citrus scent in mine. Looking at Italian Barbers website, they do show the top level notes being citrus. So, I don't whether my sense of smell can't pick it up or if there is a formula change.
