This is my first effort at “The Question of the Day” thread.
I guess we shall see how long it lasts...

I’ve begun with 3 questions that keep me up at night.
Please feel free to provide well thought out answers OR add your own (preferably innocuous, jocular and shaving related) questions.

? Do guys that shave their head use shampoo or soap when washing their head/hair?

? Does witch hazel actually do anything?

? Why do guys with beards hang around a shaving site?

As a head shaver with a beard who sometimes uses witch hazel, I feel qualified to answer today's questions.

? Do guys that shave their head use shampoo or soap when washing their head/hair?
Face Wash.

? Does witch hazel actually do anything?
Mild anti-inflammatory. But most of them contain a bit of glycerin as well, so a touch of moisturizing action as well.

? Why do guys with beards hang around a shaving site?
Many of us are head shavers. The others still have to line up the edges of the check and neck lines.

Q. Do guys that shave their head use shampoo or soap when washing their head/hair?

A. I shaved my head once, and while it was growing back I used soap.

Q. Does witch hazel actually do anything?

A. Dunno, never used it. So it does nuthin’ fer me!

Q. Why do guys with beards hang around a shaving site?

A. I’ve had a beard for nearly all of the last forty years. It’s been trimmed in various ways. I always considered shaving a mindless activity; just someth8ng that needed to be done periodically. It got very very little attention. I took up wet shaving about a year ago out of curiosity, never intending to spend much time at it. The soap and brush was the more novel aspect of it, but I went all in by getting an EJ DE89 too. The results I got were so impressive that I was hooked. I’m also enjoying the acquisition disorders, and I’ve enjoyed this as a more-or-less constructive outlet during the pandemic. The forums are a great source of guidance and information; they’re amusing and entertaining, and I learn what products people like/dislike.

Here’s my $.02 Pete......

1/ I have a full head of hair.  My pal Gino who is my only mate who shaves his head said he likes using shampoo on his bald dome and follows up with the same face moisturizer he uses on his face.  He also said he wears sunscreen 100% of the time when out of doors.

2/ Witch Hazel has many benefits for skin, including relieving inflammation, tightening pores, and helping with razor bumps. It may also help reduce acne, since it can cleanse your skin of excess oil. However, it should not be used by people with dry or extremely sensitive skin since it can cause irritation.  Personally, I wouldn’t use it everyday.  I use “Eczema Honey” Premium Witch Hazel and Aloe Spray.  It’s the best after shave I’ve ever used with soothing and healing properties.  I get it at CVS.  Dickinsons and Thayers, I wouldn’t exactly call those premium, but better than nothing at all.

3/ I think guys who hang around shaving sites are Gents who take grooming of their face very serious.  For those men, it’s more about the condition/style of that facial hair.  It’s my opinion they have a little more bathroom time than us clean shaven folk.  A nod to the well groomed bearded men here at DFS!

I would have said I stand behind Mario Badescu Witch Hazel and Rosewater Toner and it is a premium product.....HOWEVER, when my bride was spraying her legs after shaving I immediately knew this girl had it right!   It’s a very nice product AND won’t interfere with our best splash and EdP!

Today’s question of the day:
Does the term “tongue in cheek” come from the odd facial contortions of wet shaving?
