My fault for wandering off Shaver_Brian's question, of course, and bringing in the P076, which is an entirely different kind of razor than the N075, about which he asked (which, itself, is a different razor than some others, it being solidly in the smooth-razor-that-gives-a-great-shave-with-a-sharp (heck, any) blade.  Having said that, the P076 seems to get more varied responses than the N075 and I've seen that reactions often seem to depend on which metal.  I couldn't use the 17-4 at all -- had an absolutely terrible time during the pass-around.  Yet, some folks love it. The P076 Titanium was good for me, but didn't wow me.  Again, others love it (it's one blogger's "goat").  More blade feel than I like (though less than, say, an R41 or Blackbird).  However, the P076 in copper is what wowed me.  Soft and smooth and efficient; I can use it as a daily razor if I want (I know a few folks use the Blackbird daily which, based on my experience, I can't fathom, but razors are so very personal in how people's mileage varies).  I'm about to try the Carbon and will certainly try the Yates, but would like to get it in polished, which isn't available now.

I wonder why the copper so different with the same head geometry and approx same weight as the 17-4? Might have to try it myself to see.

I also highly recommend the Yates.
It's honestly hard to rotate my razors because I enjoy the Yates so much.

I had the same reaction and have said as much to Aji.  I understand that the 17-4 metal does irritate some people, and I think I fall into that category.  While I was polite about it, my shaving experience was terrible.  I've come to attribute it to the metal, particularly after having now also used the titanium and copper versions.

The skin on my face and throat really likes the Blackbird (especially OC).

I’m not a hobbyist per se, I just have a difficult beard. Most of it grows dead flat against the skin, with somewhat random grain. Ingrowns are a big problem, even if I just use clippers instead of a razor to leave stubble.

Blade feel is not something I specifically seek or avoid. I just want a close shave with minimal irritation and minimal ingrowns. That’s what I get with the Blackbird OC.

The nearest challenger is the Vector OC.

The only razor I have used or owned from the OP's list is the Timeless .95 and it also being the only razor I have owned for almost 2yrs now would be my suggestion. Mine is a Ti95DC OC/SB and would be the exception if being suggested as I find using the OC on 1st pass and SB for the 2nd is why I've lost all desire to try any other razors that have become available since getting it.

That being said I do read all the threads here and on B&B about all the razors mentioned and think from what he listed as options, I would also suggest the H&S HO75 as I think that would be more inline with what he's been using and again, from what I've read will up his efficiency from his current options. As for the other H&S suggestions I don't think any would fit his needs as they would all be too aggressive for him and basically a waste of funds!!

I am kinda baffled over the whole PO76 series H&S offers as from all the reviews each material seems to get quite a few different reviews according to the pass around threads. I personally think from what I've read is he changed a dimension without disclosing the info on the 17-4 razor because it just seemed the reviews on it were the most critical and I just don't buy it that the material is the reason. The reason I think this is because when the Titanium was introduced it received very favorable reviews and very much on par with the SS version and henceforth the Copper as well over the 17-4... The dislike for the 17-4 just seemed overwhelming compared to the others and I think that is just strange in most blamed it on the material.

I've not tried any of Avi's line because of 2 reasons being I am VERY happy with my Ti95DC and just can't believe the shave could give any better results than I have been getting over the past couple years and then there are the looks of the H&S line!! In "MY OPINION" they are the ugliest razors offered today other than the Oneblade maybe and it probably starts with the handles more than the razor heads themselves. The handle on the Blackbird is what kept me from buying one of those and I know you can always change the handle out but to me that is being disrespectful to the Mfg'r in doing that. They make a product to be used as it is released imo... The handle on the H&S line is imo, even uglier than the original Carbon offering that really had a very mixed reaction when launched and kept quite a few from purchasing so I feel my reasoning of the H&S is warranted. Another reason is I don't care for polished at all and it seems that is all Avi cares to make beyond the PO75 offering.

With that being said I will finish this off with a very wise quote from LOOT , "lest the flame consume"!!

Merkur 37C, Rockwell 6C

I love to use all of them based on how I feel that day and to use Feather on Rockwell 3rd plate but any blades on any plates and Gillette new platinum on any.

I have placed an pre order from Wolfman but may cancel due to the cost.

I am considering buying H&S N075, Timeless 0.69 or 0.95, Blackland Blackbird, Carbon shaving razor or Karve razor.

It is really hard for me to choose one lol

I have 1-1.5mm long and coarse hair mostly under the nose and chin.

Please recommend to me which to buy Smile

If you want more blade feel than the razors you're used to, the Blackbird is worth a try.  I'm kinda guessing maybe you don't since you use the 3 plate on the Rockwell most.  The Timeless 95 might be a nice pickup.  Not overly aggressive, but quite efficient and a beautiful razor.

Actually I don’t mind using any plate Smile
but the best combination for shaving has been 3rd plate and feather blade Smile

Of 10, What point will you give for the aggressiveness of Blackbird?

Effortlessly got BBS shaves. Bought one; it's an effortless driver.  And many folks here, if you poke around, you will see agree with that.  Every time I use it (and I keep trying to find a blade that doesn't work with it - haven't yet) I end up smiling.  And its finishing beats all the others you mention, substantially I think.  It is a top drawer, top quality tool.  As to the Blackbird, despite trying it for three weeks, I never came to like it.  I found it harsh and I always felt as though I was having to be careful to avoid nicks. For a more efficient razor, I just found it uncomfortable and not in the league of others. I really tried to like it; spoke to Shane a few times but it never clicked.  And in terms of simple quality, the H&S beats it hands down (at least fome).  I particularly felt that because at the time I also got the H&S PO76 in titanium to try though the DFS pass-around and, to me, it outperformed the Blackbird in every respect for a more efficient razor.  Easy but efficient, beautiful finishing, and I didn't have to hold my breath worrying about what might happen to my skin.  But a P076 in any finish is pricey (I've ended up with a copper one to keep - amazing).  I've not tried a Yates or a Timeless, so I can't compare those. Finally, I have also used a Karve and I found it acceptable but not special.  Had borrowed it from a friend over the summer, and it just didn't seem that special (at least for me).  I just yesterday got a Carbon in the DFS passaround and will be posting thoughts on that. I'll remember to come back here and update this.  ONE final important point:  with H&S, Blackland, and (I believe) Yates, you can try out the razors and return them if you don't like them.  I don't know about the others.  I'd really recommend going down that road:  get two (or three) and swap them out day after day for two/three weeks.  You'll have a much more informed opinion at the end and you can return the losers in your personal comparison!

wow thanks for the detailed experience you had.
I never knew those you mentioned can be returned. Very interesting Smile
Many around me said that N075 should be at a specific angle to have a nice, smooth and efficient shave.

Is it also what you felt the same way?
