This is a quote from the first paragraph on the kickstarter page,

"Parthenon uses one double edge blade, and the curved blade allows you to have a close shave while protecting your skin. The entire rest of the razor is constructed from brass. "

What that means to me is, besides the blade the rest is brass. But I guess it could mean something else.

Just backed it for the razor and 50 Feathers. A brass, TTO adjustable. Can't ask for more.

Well lets just say that 90% of the razor is brass and 10% zinc. I contacted yesterday the person that runs the KS and I guess he contacted the designer with my question and send me the reply. Considering only the blade tray being zinc and doesn't get much beating I might jump and order one, but isn't the blade tray also 1 piece together with the safety bars and safety bars do get beating. I'll sleep on it and see what I decide.

Here is my message to him:

Hi, the project looks nice and wishing you good luck with it. I would like to know if the whole razor is made of brass or there is mix of other materials to it such as zinc, stainless steel, aluminum etc.

I see that the handle is made of brass, please if you don't mind asking the manufacturer regarding all the parts of the razor if they are brass. I would like to know which other parts aren't brass and what material are they made of, thank you

His/Her's answer:

Hi, the entire structure is made of brass including handle, dials, butterfly open tops etc. except one part - blade tray which is made of zinc alloy. This part has very complicated structure, and can not be manufactured without mold.

Wow. This sounds like a good deal. The people outside of Murica are able to produce an all brass (for the most part) adjustable razor. That would be hard to do here.

The all brass razor looks intriguing. I really like that it's a TTO also. The only problem is I really don't need another razor, haha.

Just backed it. We'll see how it goes. If it is bad at least I got 50 feather blades LOL. I have spent $50 on worse.

It's sharp and it cuts. I like it...

Their newsletter update has something interesting. I know it’s a bit of a novelty, but it’s kind of cool for them to offer it especially if the razor is going to be passed on or a gift...... Personally, I don’t like any type of engraving or markings on the top part of my razors but there are some that might like it. Plus, it’s free!
