Cranked up the Parthenon and not bad at all. Wide open it’s not as smooth as a Fatboy or Slim, but definitely more aggressive than either of them. The Feather was just a little grabby also around the neck area so it might be its last shave. Once I dialed it down to 7 & 6, the shave was much smoother and comfy on the 2nd and 3rd pass. Overall it competes with the Vintage Gillettes, especially in the lower settings as it feels a bit more efficient and just as smooth. Higher up in the adjustment in my experience it loses some smoothness and comfort against Gillettes best adjustable razors. Still though, the upstart Parthenon can hold its own and shave quite well. Have a great evening and shaves Gents....

I shaved yesterday with the Parthenon for the first time and I agree it's a smooth efficient razor. While the FB on its highest setting is smoother, the Parthenon's highest setting is way more aggressive than the FB. On the FB I dial in 8 while on the Parthenon 3 is enough.
My problem with it is that I cannot see the numbers clearly and the dial doesn't move easily even after lubrication. I opted for the black handle one and they sent me the untreated one. I wrote them about it and I am waiting for their answer. Otherwise a great DE at a rock bottom price.

Shave 6 with the Parthenon and just a write up from an SOTD post earlier today....

Fantabulous shave today. A 2 pass shave where everything just “clicked”. The Parthenon & Parker blade worked wonderfully on full open as it proved to be much smoother than the Feather when set at the highest setting. Not a single issue to report. All components in todays shave just worked in perfect harmony finishing off with an excellent scent from Artisan Woods. Think a slight resemblance to Creed Aventus without the pineapple note. A green, citrus and clean scent. Have a great evening and wonderful shaves Gents...

I think the Parthenon would benefit from a smoother and more forgiving blade as the razor is a bit more efficient with a tad more blade feel throughout it’s whole range of adjustment than any of the Gillette adjustables. It felt rougher and not as smooth with the Feather in the upper numbers compared to a Slim, Black Beauty or a Fatboy. But once I made the switch on trying the Parker blade, it felt much smoother and easier to handle in the higher settings comparable to the Gillettes mentioned. I wouldn’t put it ahead ahead off the Gillettes, but close enough where it can contend with any of the three of them. Blade choice is a big factor on whether you would want a more milder or more efficient feeling shave with the Parthenon.

I’m definitely having that feeling too. Feathers were no bueno. Trying to tame it down with my go-to smooth PermaSharps. Still feeling “scrapey “.

Fewer nicks today. May end up PIF.

It feels like I am using a cheese grater on my face.
