I just want to relay my experience with Paradigm, the owner, and their guarantee. I had used the razor a few times but as I was changing out the blade my finger caught something on the top cap. I had never even brushed the head against the sink cleaning out the razor while shaving so I was pretty shocked to see a very small ding in the cap. It was rough to the touch but again, very minor.
I sent an email to the owner just to inquire if this steel was indeed as hard as advertised and to see if I could've somehow dinged it or if this came during manufacture. I was instructed to send him a pic. Now, I didn't even really think this needed to be addressed. It was strictly cosmetic, and quite small. I don't plan on ever selling the razor. My only "but" was that I had just spent 250 on a razor and if it's gonna have a defect, I want to be the one to put it there.
Long story short, from the beginning, Andrew insisted upon sending me a new cap. I offered over and over to either buy one at his cost, accept a cap from a returned razor, etc as I felt bad. As a business owner I know how things go, but cheers to Andrew for being a great guy and very easy to work with. He stands by his company's guarantee and isn't just a sales ploy.

Everyone has different opinions, but I do not agree. The grip is better than a handle without any texture, but it is significantly worse than the knurling on a bull dog type handle. I am still learning the in and outs of this razor, like how much pressure to use, but I will likely replace the handle with something with more grip. The problem is I want to find a handle that is fitting of the quality that Andrew put to into the razor. I can not see a Weber bull dog or something of lower quality like that on it. Maybe a Triad or Hemple or something? Does anyone have any suggestions for something with really good grip that matches the build quality of the Paradigm? I think it should weigh about 61 grams so as not to change the balance to much.
I had pretty much sworn off purchasing any new de razors until seeing pictures of this one and talking to Andrew. I had been relying on my favorite se razor, a SS mongoose on a hempel ti handle. Now after discovering the paradigm 17-4 I’m realizing a de can perform just as well for me. I personally love the handle and have no issues with slippage but may hands are not that large so I have always preferred shorter and sleeker handles.

Totally agree, but the grip is still very good, it does not slip that is the important thing. I also looked at what mango could be put, and I like it for its simplicity and aesthetics in Stork AH14, or also the EX4 or the Taipan.
But this handle is very good for me.

The texture and length (80mm) for me is perfect. I always felt (in use) the Bulldog type handles were overkill and textured too much.
The 17-4 material male/female threads spiral down beautifully. Not so much with different metals I’ve tried.
The razor costs more than a flight home to Ireland these days. I’m not mixing metals with any chance to imperil the threading.
And don’t forget to use quality sewing machine oil on those threads.

I love the look and the feel of the razor as a whole. I have not had any problems with slippage from the handle and I like the fact that the handle threads on easy and perfectly, like my Wolfman. I dont like to change out handles personally as I feel most artisans paired the handle to the razor head for a reason, YMMV
