I received a couple of special Paladin brushes recently that surpassed my expectations. The feel, detail, colors.. just wonderful. Below you'll find pictures of the recent acquisitions, thanks for looking:

What is the color on that blue one? That looks spectacular! It reminds me of "Fordite", a material made up of hundreds of layers of automotive paint that built up on factory walls over the years. Look it up, it's pretty cool!

Jeff, not sure what the blue brush type is called. I looked up Fordite, super interesting and the brush material is definitely reminiscent of Fordite.

That is tight though! If I were to ever splurge on a Paladin, that is definitely the handle stock I would choose.

These two brushes were neither custom nor stock. We turned the handles last year along with a number of others from material we had on hand. Our intention at the time was to offer them for sale, but then we had the shop moves to deal with (which consumed July through much of September), and after that we ran up against difficulties in getting more of the material (which was custom) we wanted. I decided not sell any more Ebonite-handled brushes unless/until we sorted that out.

We just finally landed some more Ebonite a few weeks ago. Jorge requested an Ebonite-handled brush back when we were soliciting requests (i.e., first half of 2015). He has dogged me for one -- and I've been putting him and a few others off -- ever since. We ended up working out a trade for the two he posted above.

I have some promises to keep before we start offering Ebonite-handled brushes again. The only ones we've sold to date were purchased in early 2015.

Also, we need to complete a significant upgrade of our dust-collection system before I start turning Ebonite handles again in significant numbers. "Significant" in this context means something like 6-12 per month. I don't anticipate producing more than than a dozen a month on average. And we'll only do it for as long as it works out for us.

We haven't decided how we'll go about offering Ebonite-handled brushes. I don't think it will be the same as what we're doing with the brushes we're currently selling.

The blue handle looks so good it's hard not to covet that brush. Definitely a keeper.
