I am sorely tempted in purchasing a Crown King "Checkmate" Suave 26mm Synthetic Shaving Brush and was wondering if there are any owners of this brush out there and their opinions of it.
The fibres are said to be Plisson-like and I like the nice long handle.

So, anyway, if there is anyone out there with one, how do you like it? Can you compare it to other synthetics like the Plisson, Razorock, Stirling etc.

I have not personally used on, but handled one recently. The knot felt as soft as Stirling and Maggard knots. These are all pretty similar. At the meetup I was at when I saw this one person said it lathers like these brushes also.

I own a 24 mm, which is 26 mm but shorter lofted, than the other 'real' 26 mm I own, that has a higher loft.

Both are Suave and both have fibres similar to Plisson and Stirling KONG.

Both suave handles are eqaully sized, very tall but slimmer than the KONG handle.

They perform excellent, but I'm not a huge synthetic fan guy, but these plisson style knots, that are made more dense are really very very nice performers.

Both for bowl and face lathering.

If you have not used the Stirling Kong I'd say go with it. You can get one missing the Stirling logo for half the cost of the crown king. It's a great brush. Enjoy it so much I have 2!

Never used or owned one, but I may have to add this synth to the rotation.

Not sure you want to , Hector.

CrownKing is (yet another) brand owned by a certain Douglas Smythe.

I knew that, when I bought my two - just did not know anything about the problems surrounding the guy........

The only problems surrounding the guy are other people dredging up misunderstandings from 2 years ago that have been resolved...

As for the knots, I have the Duro, not the Suave and I find it to be just excellent.

Politics aside, Claus, how do you like your two Crown King brushes?

They perform great to be honest. I like them as much as my Stirling KONG. Far better than the thinner knot Plisson original.

I'm a badger brush lover, and also love my boars, but these 24-25-26 mm denser Plisson fibre brushes with added density and backbone, they perform really really well for me, I face lather 99/100, but they also work very well for the bowl.
