Ugh. Why GEM?  SE blades are slimmer, vastly superior shavers,  and offer more variety in products.

I'm confused. "Ugh. Why GEM?"...seems like a dismissal. The the next sentence reads positive. Seems contradictory.

Unless...ugh means "why must I explain this to you DE Neanderthals?". Then it makes sense.

Although GEMs have a single edge, they are not grouped with SE razors which take standard SE blades. I believe cornbread was referring to a razor that takes a standard SE blade; for example, the Blackland Vector.

Please define "standard SE blade".  GEM? Artist Club? Injector? Half a DE? I don't think there is a standard SE blade.

A matching handle to go with the new head would have been nice. For me personally none of the existing handles remotely match or look anywhere fluid. But it's still a work in progress so we'll have to wait and see until the final and official release.

Darwin looks great with WR3.

Word gets around. He leaks a picture. Then the Faberge Organics Shampoo commercial from the 80's take a life of it's own. Ha. I am no prognosticator.

I will say...that head looks massive. Looks like a lot of extra metal just getting in the way. The handle doesn't fit the head, as others have pointed out. However, I don't think I want any handle that would match the scale of the head. Hard, hard pass on this one for me.

I do hope all who are into such things are pleased!

I have to admit, I was thinking similarly to Tester, that we would see some sort of Ti adjustable razor with multiple dials that would set my bank account back a grand+… My wife is thankful for this incremental approach to razor releases!

GEM is the original and best SE blade in my opinion. And yes, I've tried AC blades in multiple different razors and they just didn't work for me. Truly a yMmV situation if there ever was one.

Use of AC blades in safety razors only goes back to 2009, and for much of that time it was only one razor (the original Cobra). Gem-style blades go back 100+ years and nearly from the start were used in razors sold by multiple brands.

Yep, I have tons of them with the earliest being from Circa 1887. Takes a Wedge OR SE Gem blade !

The ribbed-back disposable blades came out around 1905-08. Earlier razors may be able to be made to fit them, but they weren't made for them.

I haven’t shaved with it nor will I likely do so as the Blackland Sabre Level 2 is smooth as butter, while being highly efficient, and probably half the price of this yet to be released WR3..
