Hey man, no worries. Sorry, I may have been a little harsh with a response to "that" thread in question. We just had a couple threads that already went down that road before you joined up so it was just getting rehashed again. I think that's why you got the response you did. Anyway, looking forward to your future contributions and thanks for giving DFS another chance!

Way too much drama because I expressed my opinion, and the mods felt like it may POSSIBLY cause argument. I really apreciate the welcomes I got from the members, and am still a member of B&B and TSD, but I don't agree with how this forum is ran and not allowed to speak my mind.

we don't let anyone delete their accounts.  this is common practice on most forums as deleting accounts can destroy the structure of threads.

your comments regarding PAA were off topic and will cause drama, it always does.  we have proof on this very forum that it does.  this is why Freddy asked you to get the thread back on topic since complaining about PAA's character has absolutely nothing to do about his soaps.

I apologize for derailing the thread, that was not my intention. I recognize many people on this forum and feel like I would have some knowledge to share with this forum. I did not mean to belittle Douglass in any way, just wanted to post my thoughts about PAA, and figured a thread about PAA would be the most appropriate place to do so. Not trying to cause any trouble, and now that I have had time to sleep on it I would like to give this forum  a second chance if possible.

no big deal. thanks for apologizing and we hope you continue to enjoy the forum.

Not a problem. Hey I see you are from Ferndale. I am currently living in the Livonia, Westland area. There is a pharmacy out your way that sells a good selection of shaving gear, I believe it is off Woodward but I may be wrong about that.

SHAVEWIZARD420, cool! Oddly enough, I'm not actually from Ferndale, I lived in Westland until I was 11. Then we moved out to Clarkston. Ferndale is just where I live now.

I think ZMC is the pharmacy you're talking about. tdmsu told me about it, but I haven't gotten a chance to stop in yet.

SHAVEWIZARD420 aren't you glad you didn't blowtorch your account now? This place is pretty solid bud, I'm not sure you'll find a better place to talk about shaving.

Glad you chose to stick around!

Given time, I think you'll find that DFS is absolutely fine with posting opinions, even unpopular opinions, on all subject matter related to shaving. There is none of the "walking on eggshells" that becomes so commonplace on large forums with loads of rules, and money to earn. It doesn't work that way here.

You will find, however, that we like to keep things on topic, and proven. It's an effort to avoid unfounded character assassinations that DO occur at so many other forums. We, as members, don't like that stuff here. Legitimate gripes are readily aired, discussed, and, hopefully, resolved. Accusations need to be supported with facts, or they will quickly be swept away by both the mods and members. None of us wants to bicker over opinions, but every one of us wants to know if something "untoward" is going on in the community.

"That topic" was hashed out over 20 or so pages not long ago here. Unlike the other places that have "that topic" continually playing over and over, this place actually allows the vendors and artisans to participate as equals to the members, not beholden to the forum, or required to sit idly by and watch rumours explode. As such, we were able to discuss the issues, discuss the rumours, and get actual honest input from Douglas himself, and put the whole bag of shenanigans to rest. This happened not long ago, and unfortunately, your posts just came at the wrong time.

Regardless, I am glad you have had a chance to look around, re-think your stance. DFS is, in my humble opinion, the ONLY forum that honestly and truly DOES allow an absolutely free exchange of ideas without having to walk on eggshells to appease the mods and admins, and without forcing artisans and vendors to sit idly by and be assassinated by unfounded rumours.

We have heated discussions, and we have quite a few laughs. We have wonderful SOTD threads, and we have an Off Topic forum. Grab a beverage of your choice, kick your heels up, and join us! I think you'll like it her.

Welcome aborad!

ZMC that's the place, they do carry some wet shaving gear, mostly TOBS, Musgo Real, Proraso, Gold Dachs, and a few others. Of course Maggards has a better selection, but it was a cool place to find wet shaving gear locally.

Welcome Jeff!

ZMC is the place. They have pretty much what wyze0ne wrote about. They are excellent people.
