I’m having trouble picking up the rose, but I’m hoping it’ll present itself when the soap has been lathered once or twice.

Matsilainen good hear that it it seems to have survived. I lived in Phoenix for 8 years and hard to say how hot the mailboxes got in the middle of summer.

Wolverine, thanks, and having lived in Phoenix, you know all about the issue. Sometimes this matter really makes me think what to order and when. A few years ago, an original formula Dr. Jon’s soap arrived in pure liquid form… After cooling off, even that soap was usable, though. I guess instead of triple-milled, it was twice-cooked. Smile

Also I keep thinking (and smelling Morocco.) Less rose but it's definitely there. That smokiness really comes through. It's haunting in a really wonderful way. I can't stop thinking about it.

I ended up ordering all 5 soaps from 3 different orders after reading the initial impressions and 2 reviews from BoarderPhreak .

One question though, are the soaps about the same as the Grooming Dept soaps in terms of texture, or softer or firmer?

In case you missed it under the Merchant section, I've been doing an extensive coverage of the new 2017 T+S line...

Meet the All-new Tallow + Steel Products
Tallow + Steel 2017 - First Impressions

Reviews are also coming daily...

West Indies
Boreal

The rest of the line will be forthcoming, starting with Morocoo next. It's smoky - reeeeal smoky. Look out Unforgiven and Roam.

The new Tallow + Steel soap reminds me of L&L Grooming’s current formula — quite soft, and there is a texture on the surface after the soap has been poured. Whereas the Grooming Dept soap I have has a smooth surface and feels slightly firmer than Tallow + Steel.

How is saying they had the absolute BEST Hard soap, and although I'm sure this.new formula will be excellent, I was disappointed they changed the formula a troll? Your ideas of a troll are very odd.

I loved the old formula. I didn't want to see it go. I know this formula will be good too, this guy knows how to make soap. I never once questioned that. If someone cvannot say they prefer one thing over another , then what the Hell are we doing here? Lol my god man. Every post has to be just roses and daffodils or What? Tallow & Steel...you make damn good soap. You really do. I've NEVER doubted that. I just don't agree with the changing of t he formula. I also don't agree with the Dodgers signing Rich Hill to a Long term deal, but i still wear my Dodger boxers every Thursday. I don't agree with the NFL slowly taking the physicality out of football, but I still pay for the NFL Ticket every year. I don't agree with T&S changing their formula, but I still placed a large order at 2am the first day it was available. I'm not a troll.....nuf' said. Lol
