Ruds review peeked my interest and had to give Milkbase a try. I have really enjoyed DG soaps, performance wise, historically but have struggled to find a scent that I truly enjoy use after use. I have Massacre of the Innocents and Dirtyver on the way. Very excited to give these a try and hear others opinions as the soap arrives and gets more reviews.

I received a shipping notice that my Milksteak Dirtyver is being shipped. I should theoretically have it before Sunday. I really loved the Icarus Dirtyver scent as well as performance.

It's "piqued," not "peeked."  Just FYI.

I thought Icarus in the Shore scent had a LOT of animal funk to it.  The Shore scent didn't mask it very well.  Happy to hear that the Milksteak base has decreased the animalic funk.

First impression of the Milksteak is it is very, very good. No pre- or post-shave used, just the soap. I did paint the last of the lather on while I cleaned up, as usual. An hour post shave and my skin feels fantastic. The soap is a little softer than my usual so it loaded easily. It loves water and builds lather easily. I think we have a winner. Seems to be as good as Ruds says. Looking forward to using this line of soaps.[Image: 53ec0382f67bace9c02ae1a8bed1d012.jpg]

Nice man, used the new YRP in Milksteak today, it's actually pretty fantastic. Grabbed Sellout as well, give that a run tomorrow and see if it's great too.

Thanks for the quick review, sounds more than promising. I received the tracking # on Monday but no updates on USPS since. I'm sure they were hit with a flood of orders so i understand and will sit tight.

Edit - I just checked this morning and is scheduled for delivery today!! I guess USPS didnt scan it until it hit my local post office.

Thanks for the above post gregcss
I received the YRP scented milksteak soap. To me, I detect something lingering in there that may be classified as 'funk'. I am not sure if it's just the scent base or the soap base since this is the first time I tried YRP, but I would doubt it's the scent base. I'll leave the top open for a few days and take another sniff.

I received my Milksteak Dirtyver today and just now used it on a 1 1/2 day beard. It smells just like my old Icarus Dirtyver and lathered just as easily with my YaQi synth. Performance was excellent and at this point I will postulate a bit. IMO the subjective margin of appreciation is razor thin (no pun intended). I just feel that the differences amongst top tier soaps is highly dependent on small non quantifiable variables to some degree. I believe that if we handed a shaver a pre loaded brush with an unscented version of say the top five artisan soaps that damn few if any would be able to correctly ID them let alone notice any real differences. They are that close. That said, I really enjoy the Dirtyver scent.
