I used my Core for the first time last night, soap was Nuavia Verde and the blade was a Feather. Initial thoughts on the razor, very nice for $50. Yes there is the mark on the back of the head where the plastic was likely molded, but not an issue to me. I did not expect $400 SS OneBlade quality on a $50 razor.....$45 if you figure the included blades are probably worth about $5
Good shave, I have extreme trouble with my neck and the V1 OneBlade was really the cure for that after searching through so many DE and SE razors. The Core gave me the same results in the neck area, which is all I was really wishing for. It did take a bit of extra buffing around my chin vs. a shave with my V1 OneBlade. That's ok, I can live with that. Going ATG on my cheeks I had to search and get a feel for it. Maybe it was angle, maybe it was the difference in head weight, but I felt I had to use a little more force vs. the absolutely smooth glide of my V1. That's ok, it was not irritating at all.
My goal with this razor was to have a true backup to my V1, and a travel razor so I do not have to bring along what is now a $400 razor on vacations and whatnot. I once dropped my V1 and bent the head. Immediately I was in shock, figuring it would be a $400 error on my behalf. Someone suggested I call OneBlade, which I did, and with a simple picture of the serial # and a picture of the damage, which I obviously inflicted, they sent me a refurbished V1 for something like $90. I was beyond happy, but still needed to shave while the replacement was in the mail. My backup razors did not do the job that my OneBlade could. After last night's shave I believe the Core will fill that gap if I ever need to resort to a backup again. And with that, I am thankful for this $50 OneBlade.
The results are good enough to consider me satisfied with the Core.
