Took a long while for my Omega boar to really "break in".
Went through several cycles of soaking it in white vinegar and dawn dish soap when new to get any smell out and prep it.
It's now my favorite as I like the extra backbone boar provides for lifting hairs. Stick with it!

White vinegar?
Diluted I suppose?

You might want to get a bottle of conditioning shampoo and give your new boar brush a good shampoo. That might helpd.dd

I have noted that shavers with boar brushes often fall into one of two categories: those who love Semogue brushes and those who love Omega brushes and brushes that are similar to Omega brushes. I have two Semogue brushes and one Omega brush. I prefer the Omega brush. It always gives me a better lather than Semogue, but as i said, other prefer the Semogue brushes. If after giving the Semogue a fair chance, you still do not like it, purchase an Omega. Although I have not tried one, I have heard good things about Zenity boar brushes. They just are not as readily available as the first two brands.

Interesting suggestion, thanks!
If it’s still the same result as before on the next run, I’ll try that!
