I drive my wife crazy when I listen to death metal. On our first date back in '94, I picked her up playing Morbid Angel "Blessed Are The Sick" and she didn't know what to expect the rest of the night. lol

Nice! I was just listening to the new reissue of Death's The Sound of Perseverance a few hours ago. Great stuff.

If you haven’t already, check out Omnium Gatherum, which shares some of the same genes and is just as fantastic. (And has, at various times, described itself as “adult-oriented death metal”, “life metal”, and “Toto-core”).

I'm a big fan of OG as well. My top 3 albums this year have been Winter's Gate, Dawn of the 5th Era from Mors Principum Est. Vessels from Bel'Akor is probably pretty close to the top as well.
If you get the chance to see Insomnium live I highly recommend it. I got to see them with Dark Tranquility last year and it was amazing.

(Didn’t “click” when I listened to them several months ago.) My hot lead for you: the album Origin by The Hypothesis.

Some months ago, I saw Insomnium on tour with Omnium Gatherum. Sadly, half the band were stand-ins at the time, but they did a great job, nevertheless. Just saw Dark Tranquillity the other week. Their new album Atoma is really good.

Vintage Lydia Pense and Cold Blood, to get my blood flowing this morning. I saw them many years ago in San Francisco, in my wilder and crazier days.

Great stuff. I tend to listen to the older bands like Massacre, Asphyx, Sinister, Broken Hope, Dismember, Hypocrisy, etc. more than the newer stuff.
