Through the kindness of a fellow DFS member from the UK I was able to obtain a Muhle R-41 Ti. He asked me if I wanted a specific number should it be available and I opted for # 073/100 since my birthday (today) brings me to 73 years on this earth. So though I received the R-41 on the 18th of the month I restrained myself and waited until today to kick the tires and take it out for a spin.

TBH it's too soon for me to give a final assessment, but I think it is a winner. I had a 3 day beard growth, got out my rarely used Chubby 2 with MDC Fougere to do the honors, and selected a brand new Feather blade. The shave was quite good, with no irritation or DNA lost. Two passes and smooth BBS all the way round.

Not a lot of blade feel this time around, but perhaps that had to do with the amount of whiskers. I'll shave with it a few more times daily to reach a conclusion. I love the gun metal gray color. Not as white as the Blackbird Ti, and more weight to the Muhle Ti @ 65 gms, as opposed to the 54 gm Blackbird Ti, which may seem infinitesimal, but suits my hand better nonetheless. Like the stainless R-41 the Ti is beautifully finished with no tool marks that I could see.

Again like the SS R-41 the Ti is the 2013 head with a slightly wider top cap reducing the blade exposure that is evident in the fearsome 2011 version. Still gives a helluva shave, In the coming days I'll assess it as a daily shaver, and try it with a variety of blades.
