Received mine today & had first shave, completely underwhelming...honestly for the price was expecting much more in terms of quality of product & shave. Will post more tomorrow.

In short, the polishing on my razor was not consistent on all three of the parts, blade fit on cap not as secure as it should be, and the packaging was pretty poor - cap, base, handle simply packaged individually in zip lock bags, arrived in an envelope. The shave was fairly mild, definitely more impressed with my RR Game Changer at less than half the cost.

Was this a beta or test release? The real production ones are not due out until the end of the week. Pics would be nice.

I do not believe this was a beta/test release..20% discount offer was sent less than a week ago to "VIP" customers, received my razor a couple days ago. Will post pics soon.

But wait! I thought it was the world's finest razor! It even says so on the bottom of the handle, so it must be true right? Lol

I received mine today, and am totally underwhelmed!  Like the earlier poster, I was offered the razor at discount if I agreed to post a review.  I will do so, but as a fan of the New LC, Deluxe and Standard am not at this positively disposed toward this razor.  It arrived in a plain paper wrapper with each piece in a separate plastic bag.  I assume there will be better packaging for the production versions.  I'm not sure these are.  My handle is somewhat rough.  There were apparently only 20 razors available for the reviewers.  I believe the enterprising Mr. Fine decided to sell his sample first production razors.  We'll see how the shave goes tomorrow morning.

Whoa, if Maranello and Jgreenepa are VIP members, I hate to see what the regulr folks paying the regular price will get.

This is what was delivered to me in a plain paper wrapper.  Honestly, I believe Todd just wanted to sell his first production samples.  In fairness, the difference in price might be because packaging isn't included.  Those looking for an open comb will be disappointed, but the geometry is clearly influenced by the New LC.  We'll just have to see how it shaves tomorrow morning.  The Guilloche type knurling does appear to provide for a secure grip.  We'll have to see.  I am a big fan of his Marvel Razor.

Not entirely able to tell from these photos but you may have a better example than mine as far as polishing consistency. This was (part of) Todd’s response to me email with feedback...

“On the packaging, any upgrade there would further increase the cost of this razor which was something I didn’t want to do.  The singular goal of the project is to make a premium piece as affordable as possible, so decreasing the affordability for purposes of un-boxing satisfaction would be opposed to the objective.  That said, I could add some detail to that effect to the product description to better set expectations for the first look.

Fit and Finish might be an area we could approve on.  It looked great to my layman’s eye, so I did not press further with the factory.  I’ll make an attempt at that for our next production run - especially when it comes to the handle polish, because I can see what you are talking about now that you’ve pointed it out.”

I do believe Todd takes feedback seriously and have confidence in his ability to correct any quality issues with his products.

Thanks for posting the pics, please let us know how your shave went!
