My wife says everything smells like soap so her opinion rarely drives me. For me I never judge a set off the puck but rather shave once or twice with it and then decide to keep it or trade or sell it. I am not sure if it is bad mixing by an artisan but I have not cared for a soap and then on the second try found I enjoyed or loved it. Usually it was a lack of scent the first time.
