I mostly taste (read: eat) candy lime and not smell it. BUT! Mike's lime is great. Smells 98% of what a real lime smells like. The other 2% is the other ingredients in the soap. Smile It's a great spring/summer time soap. I think I had my tin for a few months before using it up. I didn't not notice degradation in the scent.

Wow a few months. That's impressive.
Yeah that might not of been the best choice of words. I didn't want to say synthetic I guess I can't think of something else to describe what I mean.

I know what you meant with the candy analogy Smile
Perhaps candy technology has made breakthroughs to smell (and taste) exactly like limes? PS i dont eat much candy these days, but do cut up limes from time to time.

Mike's Lime was maybe better than Lemongrass and Eucalyptus which I love a TON but I simply didn't use Mike's Lime as many times. I maybe had 8-10 shaves using Lime and 15 times total with Lemongrass and Eucalyptus.

Both are strong but yes, Mike's has a smell of the base soap and then mostly very sweet potent limey lime.

I find Mike's Lime to be very similar to smelling fresh cut limes. It has the sweet noted but you can also detect the bitterness of the rind. Most other limes, to me anyway, are far too sweet, and lack a bit of depth. Also I do not find the scent very strong, just pleasantly present and gone after the shave is completed.

After last months purchases I told myself I was going to restrain myself. But I've been looking. Never tried Mikes.   Curious about two scents that are not available on Maggards but are available on Mikes site - Peppermint & Rosemary & Lavandin & Eucalyptus. They don't seem to get brought up as much as Barbershop, Bay Rum, OC&B and Hungarian Lavender.

For those that have tried both of these, which do you prefer? Lavandin & Eucalyptus or Hungarian Lavender.

Thank you!

One of my favorite scents in all of shavedom is Mike's Hungarian Lavender. An earthy, darker (in a good way) lavender that again is not over scented. Just right. Mike just made a new batch of the HL.

Shaved with the Peppermint & Rosemary last night. Great scent. I get a bit more Peppermint. Reminds me of how I scent my rack of lamb with a bit of thyme thrown in. I was hungry after the shave!

Wolverine the Peppermint & Rosemary is great. One of my favorite's from Mike's. It's a herbaceous scent. More peppermint than rosemary. The peppermint adds a nice cooling effect. I would recommend it.

Similar at all to MW Jeffs Lavender. I have a sample of that and like it.

Food and shaving I could do that. Not sure if you are a Seinfeld fan but sounds like that episode with George Costanza although it wasn't shaving he was mixing food with.  Evilgrin
