It's been about a year and a half since my last visit to Pasteur Pharmacy, aka the Mecca of All Things Shaving. Wow! Lots of new soaps from new artisans. New after shaves, etc. They were unpacking a shipment of Rockwell 6C razors. Leon, the owner, was gracious as ever. I left with Soap Commander Fortitude balm and soap. This might be my favorite scent ever, and is new to me; TOBS Almond shave cream; Palmolive shaving soap in the tube, which is one of my favorite shaving creams at any price--it really punches above its weight; and Barrister & Mann Adagio, as I'm eager to give the B&M line another go. It was hard to leave without more but I can hide only so many new products from my wife--smiley face emoji of your choice here. Anyway, Leon and Steve really are doing a great job and I recommend a pilgrimage.

UPDATE:

Stopped in to Shave Mecca again today. Lots of great soaps on the clearance shelves--Shave Heaven, Soapy Bathman, Tiki, etc.

I'm on a classics kick so I picked up Cella Shaving Cream; De Vergulde Hand Shave Stick which, with its plastic case, seems ideal for travel; B&M Latha Lavender/Oakmoss/Heliotrope, which I'd never noticed before; and a large Thayers Witch Hazel Unscented, and a travel-sized Thayers Rose Petal. I'm so happy with my bounty! It's time to shave. P.S. Leon, the owner, is as nice a guy as ever you could hope to meet.

I agree my friend from Germany sends this and the stick to me for WAY cheaper than you can buy it for online.

I love the shave stick, too. Perfect for travel or for home. I used it the other day and am always so pleased at how wonderfully it lathers, how slick it is, and the fantastic post-shave face feel. For under $3!

I went there this week as well. I was impressed by the selection. I don't do well with scents, so all I got was a puck of Stirling Unscented Beeswax, an Omega S brush to use for travel, and a pack of blades to keep at the hotel since I'll be traveling up there the next few months. I like being able to check things out in person instead of just looking on line. I will definitely go back and possibly pick up a Simpson's brush since I don't have any badger brushes. I might get a boar as well.

Lucked out there last week. Found a B&M Lavanille in the old packaging in the clearance section. Do not get your hopes up, it was the only one. But I do love their clearance section. If I did not have so much soap in the house a back up Rockers would be coming home.

Congrats. When I was there, there were lots of Shave Heaven soaps at half off, and Soapy Bathman soaps at half off. Probably others, as well. Yes, the clearance section is great.
