Seems like a no brainer.
Because it's worked well enough since 1955. A lot of us think it's just fine and helps balance the short handle version just right.

I agree. I kinda like the plastic knob. It gives it more of that classic vintage feel. But I do enjoy looking at the upgrades like the Mergress and Digress as well.
