It was good to see you, too, wyze0ne (even if it threw me for a loop that you lost the soup strainer), and everyone else who was there. That was a lot of fun and it was exciting to see attendance reach full capacity.

I'm pissed. I am jealous because that looks like a blast, and I would spend the entire day there sniffing everything, and wasting as much of Will's time as I could. Makes me think I should try to make the one in Stl when the time comes.

But last week was finals week and I was buried in the books, and the meet was probly 2 states away from me in Southern Illinois.

I think the only way I would have that much fun is to open a store and have a meetup of my own. I would have Will give a free tub of Vanille to the first 100 entrants as a door prize.

I bet the phone lines to the credit card companies were on fire that day!! Wink
Secretary Ramsey put his foot into it yesterday . . . in the course of his remarks he said that California “needs water and better society.”  “So does h-ll,” yelled someone in the crowd.

who knows, maybe I'll make it out there next year. Smile

Thanks for the reports and photos! This is one event I would love to make. Next year, I may be able to fly out from Texas.

Good times! I was there and had a blast. Holy Black and I teamed up to give away a vintage Toggle...that was tough to part with but worth it! The only downside for me was being "trapped" behind the table the entire event! Looking forward to next year!

That's upstairs?

It's a really cool old building. When I stopped in October I couldn't picture what to expect. I saw the stairs behind the cool old library type filling drawers. I was so overwhelmed by so much stuff to look at and sniff. Hard to know even where to start with all the awesome! The barber shop built in the back corner is so confusing and then obvious at the same time. A lot going on there.

One cool thing about the random afternoon I stopped in was the other walk-in customers. A father and teenage son. A dude that read online DE razors would improve his skin. The guys working there were so helpful to everyone but not hovering. Actually dished out realistic, helpful advice. They even had print outs at the ready with tips and websites with pointers.

I hardly ever talk about stuff like razors and software anywhere besides the internet. Being there made it feel less like a niche hobby to me.

I was probably there an hour and feel like I still didn't even come close to checking out half of the different stuff they stock.

Jealous I couldn't make it to the Meetup. Looks like a really great turnout this year. Sounds like there were sweet prizes too.
