1) What type of break-in did you do, prior to first shave? (Such as an overnight cold soak, soaking in light hair conditioner, brushing over denim, etc.)

2) Is it scritchier than a Simpson Pure Badger, or a Stirling Boar...or about equal?

Thanks.
I did two lathers where I let the lather sit in the brush overnight. This is mainly to defunk the brush. I would say it's less scritchy then the Stirling boar when new but right now more scritchy then my broken in Stirling boar.

I got one in the purchase of an ER 400. It came new, hand lathered a few times. The scritch never went away. Seemed to me like every single boar hair was upside down. I'm familiar with the break-in process of boar as Omega boar is my favorite knot.
I hope yours turns out better than mine.

After my shave this morning there was no noticeable change in the scritch. The brush did lose four fibers this morning, all of them were boar bristles.

So I was finally fed up enough with my Maggard mixed knot shedding that I decided to pull it and replace it. When I pulled it the cause the the shedding was instantly apparent. The glue plug was disintegrating inside of the handle.
