A fellow New England wet shaver who I trust who owns every high end razor available (pomfretsteve on Instagram) guided me to the V3. He describes it’s suction like effect while shaving and lather coming off like a snow shovel. I just shoveled another snowfall this am.Rolleyes

Never even heard of it! I have been using the gray head on a Halo handle and absolutely loving it. Moderately aggressive but extremely smooth.

Right up there with many including the Blackbird and Paradigm.

Something about the bend in the baseplate is pretty cool...wonder if that has anything to do with the shaving properties. Great unexpected discovery!

I do like the V3. (My wife does too. She claim jumped me and uses this one more often than her vintage Lady Gillette.)

I like the V3A even better

+1 on the V3A. It’s very efficient and, for me, cuts better than the V3.

only issue I have with V3 is this:

I purchased 3 so far, each one of them had significant blade alignment issue. I will agree that it is a great shaver though. But because of this alignment thing, I have sold mine and stopped recommending Maggard kits to friends as it is difficult for a newbie to sort this while learning how to shave.

Yep every version I have owned back to their original V1 has had some blade slop. Still like the V3A though. It's what you get when you pay $9 for a head I guess.

V3A is one of my favorite heads, too.

It's a different head not an update, the V3 is a EJ DE89 clone, the 3A is a more aggressive design. Both are still available.
