Here's a Brad Sears/M&F Pug that arrived the other day. This has to be one of the nicest brushes I've ever seen. Brad really knocked this out of the park.

It's similar to the DFS group brush but Brad changed some of the proportions so the colors better compliment each other.

Nice combo of contrasting resins! How is the latest set of knots?

It was the small changes Brad made in some of the proportions that made everything blend together so well. He whipped up a prototype when I first inquired about this brush and from there he made some small tweaks. It was fun watching this develop. The latest finest knots from M&F have been great. They're soft, dense, and have good backbone. I'm defunking this one this weekend, so I'll be able to give better feedback on the knot once I do a couple palm lathers.

Has there been any grey lather yet and if so, was it any more than 3 or 4 lathers worth to wash?

Thanks for your info in the reply. Good luck with the defunk and get it on with the soap. Wink

I've had brownish lather come out of just about every new brush I purchased. I only see it on the first or second lather. I think it's just what ever is used to treat the hair. Usually after two lathers the funk is gone in an M&F knot. Brad Sears and Paladins only require one lather because they wash their knots before they set them. The worst funk I've had was from a Vintage Blades 2 band finest knot. It took about 5-6 lathers with a strong scented soap to extinguish those fumes!

I thought Brad originally designed the Pug for the DFS, but the group buy choose different dimensions. He stayed with the Pug. I love my DFS, but I want a Pug. Maybe an ebonite one?
