Mühle says: "The cord hook for hanging the razor can be replaced and is available in an array of colors. Users can also attach individual cords of any length."
It looks like the handle tip unscrews, so just remove the cord.

That fingerprint pattern on the handle looks like it would be difficult to keep clean.

I bought one and shaved with it for the first time today. To be blunt:  I like it................a lot. It's different than any other DE I have used vintage or new. Very wide head with huge solid blade holding tabs. After loading a Gillette Rubie Plat Plus I gazed at the gap/exposure and thought to myself that this will be very mild. Well, I was wrong. It's more aggressive than the R89 I have and far smoother IMO. The safety bars are smooth with no striations nor scallops. Someone in Germany has done their homework as this could be a real "sleeper" IMO. I had no trouble getting a DFS to DFS+. I did however use my R89 handle as the OEM one is simply too ungainly for me. YMMV.

Here are my measurements of the head + or - 0.003"

Length 1.700"  43.18 mm
Width 0.943"  23.952 mm
Height 0.320"  8.128 mm

Awesome. Nice review!

A step better than a DE89 sounds like a great razor, and should still be fine for some new shavers (presuming it's not too far more Aggressive).

Muhle is indeed well versed in razors, having been around for a loooong time. Sounds like they still 'got it'.

It just seemed to me that is nestled just past my R89 in aggression, but just by a frog hair. Still in the "Goldilocks zone".  Wink

Thanks for the great review.  Is the blade clamped equally as tight as the Henson...to prevent any blade movement or chatter From the head design and the pictures, it appears like it clamps the blade well.  I think Henson has awoken many heritage and artisan razor companies to create new products which are designed to convert cartridge shavers to DE shaving.

You are welcome. I have never seen in person nor used a Henson so I have no idea. Yes, on the Companion it is clamped very securely.

Anyone else that’s tried it have an opinion on this?
someone stop me from spending all my money on shaving!

I ordered one shortly after it was introduced. It has a very interesting head design that clamped the blade very well. As BPman stated, the shave is slightly more aggressive than the R89, but also much more efficient. The handle was longer than what I am comfortable with, however the fingerprint grip is extremely efficient and the balance is very good using that handle. I have not felt a need to swap it with a shorter handle yet. If you are interested, go for it. At it's price point, it will not break your bank. Forget all the talk about the rope or the unisex designation. Look at it as the next innovative design that Muhle seem intent on updating their offerings.
